Now on to the battle!
But first, a little about our challenger.
John Stewart is in posession of a Green Lantern power ring, giving him all of the powers and abilities the Green Lanterns have through their ring. A Green Lantern power ring is known throughout the universe as the most powerful weapon ever created. Besides gaining the power of flight and near invulnerbility, the ring is a weapon of the mind and powered by will, therefore only limited to the wearer’s imagination. He can create anything that his mind can imagine through the power of the ring. Stewart is an architect and has a vast understanding of how things are built and how they funtion. He has such a vivid imagination and sharp mind that he is known as one of the most powerful Green Lanterns in all of the Corps.
The scenario:
While conducting a routine training excercise alongside his fellow Corps. veteran Kilowog, John Stewart`s ring alerts him to an incoming urgent message from the Gaurdians of the Universe.
Kilowog: `Don`t worry John, I can finish up with these poozers. LETS GO YOU MAGGOTS! IF I DONT SEE HUSSLE IM GONNA SMASH YOU INTO LAST TUESDAY!`
As Kilowog flys away John cant help but smile at his partners particular style of training the fresh new recruits. However his smile quickly fades as the message is played through his ring:
``ATTENTION GREEN LANTERN OF SECTOR 2814. AN IMMEDIATE THREAT TO THE VERY CONTINUATION OF YOUR PLANET AND YOUR SPECIES HAS BEEN FORETOLD THROUGH IMPECABLE SOURCES. THIS THREAT MUST BE ELIMINATED BEFORE ITS EXPERIMENTS COMPLETELY OBLITORATE THE ENTIRITY OF THE PLANET KNOWN AS EARTH. THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE TO TARGET`S DEATH. NO MERCY CAN BE GIVEN OR EARTH AND HUMANITY WILL CEASE TO EXIST. YOU MUST DESTROY THE MAN KNOWN AS IRON MAN. HIS HUMAN NAME IS TONY STARK AND IF HE IS ALLOWED TO LIVE, EARTH WILL BE DESTROYED. END TRANSMISSION.``
John mouth hangs in utter shock. He knows the man the transmission has said to kill, and knows him to be a good man. However John Stewart also knows of the incredible intellect and scientific prowess of Mr. Tony Stark. If the Gaurdians are calling for his death, he must be attempting something that could destroy the world and the people he has sworn an oath to protect.
His last thoughts are grim as he powers up his ring and sets out on a new course, a course for home...
