Doom rocks, but read the rules again. This would be a meeting with no previous knowledge of each other.

In other words Doom would not have the chance to prepare.

And just off the cuff, mano e mano, Doom could never handle Ghost Rider

@Sagemode in some versions Aquaman is Hydrokintetic but not smallville version. it should have been Aqualad vs sandman.

I call shinannigans! I think there should be people not allowed in the tournament... Batman and anyone that uses the "Power Cosmic"! LOL...

Aquaman should win; the locale of the fight tips things more in his favor than Sandman's.

Dr. Doom versus Ghost Rider is an interesting fight. Even without prior knowledge of each other and no time to prepare, Doom's standard tech and knowledge of sorcery is pretty impressive. While Rider can heal from virtually everything, he can be banished to some other dimension, be entrapped by the Crimson Bands of Cytorrak, or something else. Ghost Rider's Penance Stare would end the match, but he'd need to get close to do it which wouldn't be easy considering what Doom packs.

Hulk really has no chance against the Silver Surfer unless the Surfer insists on brawling with him and forgets his powers. Besides depowering Hulk or sending him to some barren world, Surfer's power output dwarfs anything Hulk is capable of. Surfer would literally have to fight down to Hulk's level in order for Hulk to stand a chance.

So Dr. Manhattan beat the surfer....Im fine with that, but who else did?

@ BRandom: Thor's actually beaten the Silver Surfer at least twice in comics. Once, he nearly killed him.

@ThaMessenger07: Why do you think so? In Chaos War, they seemed to be pretty even as far as power portrayal goes and Thor had some crazy feats such as his battle with Glory and Chaos King in which his lightning was even able to damage him. And we'll see for ourselves in a few months when Thor fights Surfer in the current Mighty Thor ongoing series. "No chance" is pretty extreme, I think, even if you believe Surfer ultimately would win. He won't easily dispose of Thor and to my knowledge, based on both of their feats, such a thing would likely never happen.

@ Starheart: People think that because writers are incredibly inconsistent about how they represent Thor's powers. The same is true of the Silver Surfer.

Thor and Silver Surfer would be one very cool match up to see. But I mean Thor WITH in all his full glory and Silver Surfer in all of his full glory.

@Starheart - I think we all can agree that the outcome of a lot of match-ups in comics can be chalked up to bad writing.

Characters are given incredible powers to make them seem threatening or cool(to sell comics), but then those powers are later down-played or just plain omitted or forgotten as not to discredit the other character(s) in the match-up. which is kinda lame. Really, by definition and range of his powers, Silver Surfer would stomp all but a hand full of everyone in comics... More so, Galactus! Yet Mr Fantastic found a way to stop him. Or like Batman beating... well, everyone! lol.

Thor is one of my favorites, but the power cosmic is way too much of an"overpower" for even him... lol and Supes for that matter... My jaw is still on the floor over the whole"can create black holes" thing! You realize it takes the mass of a star literally HUNDREDS of time the size of the sun to do that... And that's only a fraction of what Galactus can do... yeah, overpowered...

@ Juggernaut: True, both Thor and Surfer have a ridiculous amount of power at their disposal, and generally, on the average, we don't see them go all out often.

@ TheMessenger07: Bill at his absolute best is equal to Thor's average, but Thor at his absolute best is beyond Bill and that's been shown in comics several times. "Blood and Thunder" showed that when Thor is out for blood, people like Bill and Surfer can't hang long with Thor. Thor's feats in general are greater than that of BRB's. Bill's about equal to Thor physically, but in terms of overall power, feats, skill, etc, Thor is and has been shown to be > Bill. Surfer punking Bill doesn't translate into Surfer doing the same to Thor, in any case. Beta Ray Bill got slapped around by Desak the Godslayer, whereas Thor fared better than he, for example. And recently in the Annihilators comic, Surfer conceded that Asgardian Fury was one of the few things in the universe to give him pause. To that end, we'll see how Thor versus SS goes in Mighty Thor; all things considered, there's really nothing to suggest that it wouldn't be a close fight.

@ Eternity: Doom's been able to hang with Silver Surfer, Thor, Hulk, and Sentry before, though. It's no guarentee he'd win, but Doom's sorcery is incredibly formidable to say nothing of his standard tech, prep time or not.

@ Moondoggy X: It's impressive, yes, but Mjolnir has overcome black holes before in comics and Thor has been consistently shown to be more than a match for Surfer regardless. Thor's made shields which have prevented 1/5 of the Marvel Universe from being destroyed and has absorbed energy to destroy entire galaxies, so in terms of over the top ridiculous feats, Thor has plenty of his own.

@ Sagemode: Pretty much. History shows Thor being shown to be beyond Surfer in direct confrontations more so than the opposite. Mjolnir virtually trumps almost anything Norrin can do with the Power Cosmic.
