FAN CAST: THE SPIDER-MAN UNIVERSE!

FAN CAST: THE SPIDER-MAN UNIVERSE!

When Spider-Man first appeared in the early 1960s, teenagers in superhero comic books were usually relegated to the role of sidekick to the protagonist. The Spider-Man series broke ground by featuring Peter Parker, a teenage high school student to whose "self-obsessions with rejection, inadequacy, and loneliness" young readers could relate. Unlike previous teen heroes such as James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes and Robin, Spider-Man did not benefit from being the protegé of any adult mentors like Captain America and Batman, and thus had to learn for himself that "with great power there must also come great responsibility" — a line included in a text box in the final panel of the first Spider-Man story, but later retroactively attributed to his guardian, the late Uncle Ben.

Marvel has featured Spider-Man in several comic book series, the first and longest-lasting of which is titled The Amazing Spider-Man. Over the years, the Peter Parker character has developed from shy, high school student to troubled but outgoing college student, to married high school teacher to, in the late 2000s, a single freelance photographer, his most typical adult role. He is now a member of an unofficial splinter group of the Avengers, one of Marvel's flagship superhero teams. In the comics, Spider-Man is often referred to as "Spidey," "web-slinger," "wall-crawler," or "web-head."

Spider-Man is one of the most popular and commercially successful superheroes. As Marvel's flagship character and company mascot, he has appeared in many forms of media, including several animated and live-action television shows, syndicated newspaper comic strips, and a successful series of films starring actor Tobey Maguire as the "friendly neighborhood" hero in the first three, and Andrew Garfield in a planned reboot of the films. Reeve Carney will star as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, the new musical adaptation of the comics.

Andrew Garfield = Spidey

A bite from a radioactive spider on a school field trip causes a variety of changes in the body of Peter Parker and gives him superpowers. In the original Lee-Ditko stories, Spider-Man has the ability to cling to walls, superhuman strength, a sixth sense ("spider-sense") that alerts him to danger, perfect balance and equilibrium, as well as superhuman speed and agility. Some of his comic series have him shooting webs from his wrists. Brilliant, Parker excels in applied science, chemistry, and physics. The character was originally conceived by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko as intellectually gifted, but not a genius. However, later writers have depicted the character as a genius. With his talents, he sews his own costume to conceal his identity, and constructs many devices that complement his powers, most notably mechanical web-shooters. This mechanism ejects an advanced adhesive, releasing web-fluid in a variety of configurations, including a single rope-like strand to swing from, a net to bind enemies, a single strand for yanking opponents into objects, strands for whipping foreign objects at enemies, and a simple glob to foul machinery or blind an opponent. He can also weave the web material into simple forms like a shield, a spherical protection or hemispherical barrier, a club, or a hang-glider wing. Other equipment include spider-tracers (spider-shaped adhesive homing beacons keyed to his own spider-sense), a light beacon which can either be used as a flashlight or project a "Spider-Signal" design, and a specially modified camera that can take pictures automatically.

Emma Stone = Mary Jane Watson

Mary Jane is depicted as an extremely beautiful, green-eyed redhead, and has been the primary romantic interest of Peter Parker for the last twenty years, although initially competing with others for his affection, most prominently with Gwen Stacy and the Black Cat. Mary Jane's relatively unknown early life was eventually explored in Amazing Spider-Man #259.

Vanessa Redgrave = Aunt May

In the main universe continuum, Aunt May is aunt-by-marriage and adoptive mother of Peter Parker, who leads a secret life as Spider-Man. She is nurturing and supportive of Peter although, throughout most of Spider-Man's history, she has not known of his secret life and considers Spider-Man frightening.
After years as a widow, Aunt May married John Jonah Jameson, Sr. (father of long-time Spider-Man adversary J. Jonah Jameson).

Jim Carrey=J.Jonah Jameson

Jameson is usually the publisher or editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, a fictional New York newspaper and now serves as the mayor of New York City. Recognizable by his mustache, flattop haircut, and ever-present cigar, he carries out a smear campaign against Spider-Man that has turned much of the city against the hero. He employs Peter Parker, who unbeknownst to him is Spider-Man's alter ego, as a photojournalist.

Portrayals of Jameson have varied throughout the years. Sometimes he is shown as a foolishly stubborn and pompous skinflint who micromanages his employees and resents Spider-Man out of jealousy. Other writers have portrayed him more humanly, as a humorously obnoxious yet caring boss who nevertheless has shown great bravery and integrity in the face of the assorted villains with which the Bugle comes into contact, and whose campaign against Spider-Man comes more from fear of youngsters following his example. In either case, he has remained an important part of the Spider-Man mythos.

Jameson is also the father of John Jameson, the Marvel Universe supporting character who, in addition to his job as a famous astronaut, has at turns become Man-Wolf and Star-God, and married She-Hulk.

Jameson was raised by his stepfather, also his uncle being his biological father's brother. This is who he learned to love cigars from. His biological father J. Jonah Jameson Sr. left the country for unknown reasons.

Denzel Washington=Robbie Robertson

Robertson was one of the first African-American characters in comics to play a serious supporting role, rather than act as comic relief. He has usually been a high-ranking editor at the New York newspaper The Daily Bugle and a close confidant of publisher J. Jonah Jameson, acting as a voice of reason in Jameson’s campaign to discredit Spider-Man. He is also more friendly and supportive of Peter Parker (Spider-Man’s alter ego) and other Bugle staffers than the brash Jameson. He is also known for his decades-old feud with the superhuman hit man Tombstone, with whom he attended high school.

Ashton Kutcher=Harry Osborn

Harry is the son of industrialist Norman Osborn and his wife Emily. Unfortunately, the circumstances of Harry's birth weakened Emily, and she died after several years of illness. Heartbroken, Norman becomes a cold and unloving father; he either contemptuously dismisses Harry, or lashes out at him in fury. Harry spends much of his life trying desperately to earn his father's approval.

Liam Neeson=Norman Osborn(Green Goblin)

Although many characters have taken up this mantle, the most well-known is the original Green Goblin, Norman Osborn. Norman Osborn was originally an industrialist that took a serum which enhanced his physical abilities and intellect but also drove him to insanity. He adopted a Halloween-themed appearance, dressing in a goblin costume, riding on a bat-shaped "Goblin Glider", and using an arsenal of high-tech weapons, notably grenade-like "Pumpkin Bombs", to terrorize New York City. He is one of Spider-Man's most persistent foes.

Diora Baird= Black cat

Felicia Hardy is the daughter of a world-renowned cat burglar, who always told his daughter she should never settle for second best. As a freshman at college, Felicia was raped by her boyfriend, Ryan. Traumatized, and disgusted of the idea of being a victim, she trained herself in various fighting styles and acrobatics for months with the intent on killing Ryan. Finally, after months of preparing, she discovered that Ryan was killed in a drunk driving accident, thus denying her chance for revenge. Felicia decided to use her new skills to follow in her father's footsteps. After amassing a fortune in stolen items, Felicia adopted her costumed identity as the Black Cat.

Anna Sophia Robb=Gwen Stacy

A blonde college co-ed, Gwen becomes the first love of Peter Parker (Spider-Man). Spider-Man accidentally kills Gwen in The Amazing Spider-Man #121 (June 1973). Both the decision to kill Gwen and the method in which Marvel implemented it remain controversial among fans, but the death became a pivotal point in both Spider-Man’s history and in American comic books in general. Spider-Man writers and fans disagree about who is the character’s “one true love”: Gwen or his subsequent wife Mary Jane Watson.

Rhys Ifans=Dr Connors(Lizard)

The Lizard (Dr. Curt Connors) is a fictional character, a supervillain in the Marvel Comics universe and enemy of Spider-Man. The Lizard first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #6 (November 1963), and was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. In 2009, the Lizard was named IGN's 62nd Greatest Villain of All Time.

Michael Emmerson=Doc Ock

A highly intelligent mad scientist, Doctor Octopus is one of the greatest enemies of Spider-Man. He is typically portrayed as a stocky, myopic man who utilizes four powerful, mechanical appendages, and is obsessed with proving his own genius and destroying Spider-Man. In his first several appearances, Dr. Octopus' last name was spelled "Octavious." All stories since have spelled it Octavius. Spider-Man has also nicknamed Octopus as Doc Ock. Creator Stan Lee has said that Doctor Octopus is one of his favorite Spider-Man villains. The character has appeared in numerous Spider-Man cartoons and video games and is portrayed by Alfred Molina in the 2004 film Spider-Man 2.

Michael C.Hall=Chameleon

The Chameleon was born a Soviet citizen named Dmitri Smerdyakov. In his youth, he was a servant and half-brother to Kraven the Hunter, Sergei Kravinoff, and eventually became a minor associate to one Gustav Fiers. Although Dmitri and Sergei were friends, Sergei was often abusive to him, leading to a combination of admiration and resentment towards Kravinoff from Smerdyakov. Eventually, Smerdyakov emigrated to the United States of America.

Tom Hardy=Shocker

Herman Schultz was born in New York City. He was a high school dropout who had brilliant talents as both an inventor and an engineer. Instead of using such talents to gain legitimate employment, he became a successful burglar and (according to him in later stories) the world's best safe-cracker. After finally being caught and incarcerated for his crimes, he developed a pair of gauntlets designed to shoot air blasts, vibrating at high frequency.

Dominic Purcell=Rhino

After being empowered, Aleksei Sytsevich is directed to kidnap Colonel John Jameson for his knowledge of military secrets. The Rhino, however, betrays the scientists who empowered him and goes on a rampage, eventually being defeated by the superhero Spider-Man. Eventually approached by the same scientists with another more powerful suit, the Rhino agrees to find and kidnap Bruce Banner (the alter ego of the Hulk), for his knowledge of gamma radiation. The villain encounters the Hulk but is apparently killed by severe wounds from an exploding truck before a significant battle can occur. The Hulk manages to survive the Rhino's attempt to take his foe down with him, using his last bit of strength for an attack from behind, and the villain passes out in the Hulk's grip, defiantly claiming that he would have defeated the Hulk in a fair fight.

Jason Statham=Scorpion

Mac Gargan was a private investigator initially hired by J. Jonah Jameson to find out how Peter Parker is able to obtain incredible pictures of Spider-Man. Gargan's efforts set off Peter's spider-sense and the teen was able to easily evade the detective. Jameson then decided to hire Gargan as the subject of a barely tested process that would endow him with the useful characteristics of a particular animal with the help of Dr. Farley Stillwell. In this case, a scorpion was the base for the purposes of creating a powerful agent capable of defeating Spider-Man.

Scott Adkins=Kraven

Sergei Kravinoff is a maniacal big game hunter known as Kraven the Hunter who seeks to defeat Spider-Man to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. Unlike other hunters, he typically disdains the use of guns or bow and arrows, preferring to take down large dangerous animals with his bare hands. He also uses a mystical serum to give him similar strength to Spider-Man, but even without the serum he is a threat to the wall-crawler. Spider-Man proves a frustrating quarry because Kraven continually underestimates the superhero's resourcefulness.

Zachary Quinto=Mysterio

Debuting in Amazing Spider-Man #13, Mysterio is Quentin Beck, a special effects wizard and stunt man working for a major Hollywood studio with dreams of making a name for himself in the film industry. However, he came to see his career in special effects as a dead-end job, but realized that his expertise in illusions could make him an effective supervillain.

Cillian Murphy=Hobgoblin

The Hobgoblin was created by writer Roger Stern when he was writing The Amazing Spider-Man in the early 1980s. Like other writers Stern found himself under pressure to have Spider-Man fight the Green Goblin again but did not wish to bring Norman Osborn or Bart Hamilton back from the dead, have Harry Osborn become the Green Goblin again or create yet another Green Goblin. Instead he decided to create a new character as heir to the Goblin's legacy and developed the Hobgoblin.

Jackie Earle Haley=Vulture

Adrian Toomes was born in Staten Island, New York. He is a former electronics engineer who was once the business partner of a man named Gregory Bestman; Bestman handled the finances whilst Toomes handled the inventions. One day, after creating a flight harness, Toomes eagerly rushed into Bestman's office to share the happy news. However, Bestman was not there, and Toomes discovered that Bestman had secretly been embezzling funds and that Toomes had no legal recourse. Enraged, Toomes wrecked the business, discovering that the harness also granted him superhuman strength. He then decided to turn to crime professionally as the Vulture. His wings are as sharp as swords and can be used as projectile weapons. They will replenish themselves so he can maintain flying abilities.

Jake Gyllenhal=Puma

Puma's real name is Thomas Fireheart, and he is of Native American descent. The tribe he belongs to (located near Hartsdale, New Mexico; Marvel Westerns: Western Legends suggests that the tribe may be the Kisani, as one of Puma's ancestors belonged to that tribe and lived at Lost Mesa) has had an ancient prophecy of the coming of a powerful being who might destroy the world for generations. Long ago, they began making preparations for this coming doom. They used mystic ceremonies and selective breeding to create a perfect warrior. Thomas Fireheart is the latest in this line of men. Though he never believed in the prophecy, he took his duties as protector of his tribe seriously, and has strived his whole life to be the best he could be, mastering his ability to turn into a powerful humanoid mountain lion werecat.

Robert Knepper=Tinkerer

Phineas Mason is a brilliant inventor and technician who designs advanced weaponry for criminals and sometimes undertakes crimes of his own. As the Terrible Tinkerer, he runs an underground fix-it shop disguised as a radio repair shop. On at least one occasion, a potential customer gained the inventor's attention by presenting a transistor radio and telling Mason that "I've got a radio that just can't carry a tune." Tinkerer's original scheme involved the employment of a team of petty has-been stuntmen and thugs. They specialized in placing bugs into radios and blackmailing state officials and politicians.

Bradley Cooper=Electro

Maxwell Dillon was repairing a power line, a freak lightning accident resulted in a mutagenic change in his nervous system, transforming Dillon into a living electrical capacitor. His powers were initially weak, so he spent some time stealing electrical equipment from Stark Industries to charge himself. During this time, he was approached by Magneto, who considered him a potential recruit for his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, claiming that Dillon's power rivaled his own, but Dillon refused. The following day, Dillon was confronted by a small-time thug who he'd been borrowing money from to pay for the machinery he'd needed. When the thug drew a gun on him because he hadn't paid back the money yet, he responded by shooting a blast of lightning through the thug's chest- the first time Dillon ever killed anybody. Soon taking the name Electro, he turned to a life of a professional criminal, his first victim being J. Jonah Jameson. Electro broke into the Daily Bugle Building and stole Jameson's safe right in front of him. Jameson accused Spider-Man of being an alternate identity of Electro.

Zac Efron=Venom

Venom, or the Venom Symbiote, is a Symbiote, an extraterrestrial life form in the Marvel Comics universe. The creature is a sentient alien with a gooey, almost liquid-like form. It requires a host, usually human, to bond around for its survival. In return the Venom creature gives its host enhanced powers. In effect, when the Venom Symbiote bonds with a human to form a supervillain, that new dual-life form itself is also often called Venom. Its second host Eddie Brock, after bonding with the Symbiote to become the first Venom, is one of Spider-Man's archenemies.[1] Spider-Man was the first host it merged with before its evil motives were clear. After Spider-Man rejected it, the Symbiote went on to merge with other hosts and so began its reign as the villain known as Venom. Comics journalist and historian Mike Conroy writes of the character: "What started out as a replacement costume for Spider-Man turned into one of the Marvel web-slinger's greatest nightmares

Robert Pattinson=Carnage

Cletus Kasady had a troubled childhood: he killed his grandmother by pushing her down a flight of stairs, and tortured his mother's dog. His mother then tried to kill Cletus, and was apparently beaten to the brink of death by Kasady's father, who received no defense from Kasady during his trial. As an orphan, Kasady was sent to the St. Estes Home for Boys, where his antisocial behavior made him the target of abuse from both the other orphans and the staff. Kasady gained revenge by murdering the disciplinarian administrator, pushing a girl who refused to date him in front of a moving bus, and burning down the orphanage.

Kasady becomes a serial killer. He is captured and sent to Ryker's Island prison where he shares a cell with Eddie Brock, who had lost the alien symbiote that transformed him into the supervillain Venom. Brock's symbiote soon returns and bonds with him again, and unwittingly leaves behind the symbiote's offspring; the symbiotes reproduce asexually, once per generation; the children are then of no consequence to the parent, hence Brock's symbiote felt no need to inform Brock of the existence of its offspring. The new symbiote enters Kasady's bloodstream through a cut and bonds with his blood, transforming him into Carnage.

Alan Cummings= The Jackal

Miles Warren was a professor of biology at Empire State University. There, he met Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.[2] Warren secretly fell in love with the much younger Stacy, and after she was killed by the original Green Goblin, Warren swore vengeance on Spider-Man, falsely believing it was he who caused her death. After his lab assistant, Anthony Serba, revealed that he had successfully cloned a frog, Warren gave Serba tissue samples taken from Gwen, telling him that they were rat cells. Sometime later, Serba confronts Warren, telling him that the clones are human and have to be destroyed immediately. Panicking, Warren covers Serba's mouth to shut him up, accidentally suffocating him. Unable to accept responsibility for his action, Warren creates an alter ego he calls "The Jackal", which he took after overhearing a professor describing a jackal as a "cowardly predator". Warren further develops his alter ego by fashioning a green suit and training himself athletically.

Tom Cruise=John Jameson(Wolfman)

John Jameson was born in New York City. He is the son of J. Jonah Jameson, the irascible, gruff publisher of the Daily Bugle. Jonah is immensely proud of his son, whom he sees as a true hero. Initially an astronaut, he was first seen being saved by Spider-Man when his craft malfunctioned on re-entry, something that did nothing to endear the wall-crawler to his father, who resents Spider-Man's form of heroism.

John Cena=Sandman

Sandman has the ability to transform his body. He can will his body hardened, compacted, dispersed or shaped, or a combination of those qualities, an Earth manipulation of sand and rock particles. More often than not in combat, this ability enables him to absorb most blows with little to no ill effect other than reforming himself, a relatively fast action. His striped shirt and cargo pants are colored sand to make him appear as if he wears clothes. Even when soaked, he was able to stretch his sand molecules, growing to double his size.
Sandman can mold his arms and hands into shapes such as a mace or a sledgehammer to battle Spider-Man and his other enemies. His mass, strength and shape shifting ability correspond to the number of sand and rock particles that comprise him. The more he incorporates (nearby) sand grains and rock granules into his body, the more those qualities are enhanced. Even though he controls every particle in his body, his mind exists in the astral plane. He can turn himself into a sandstorm, which enables him to fly great distances and to suffocate his enemies.

David Tennant=Hydro man

Morris "Morrie" Bench gains his superpowers while as a crewman on the cargo ship the U.S.S. Bulldog, having been knocked overboard accidentally by Spider-Man (after the hero had finished a fight against Namor) while a powerful experimental generator is being tested in the ocean. The combination of unknown radiation and his immersion in a deep ocean dwelling bacteria turns him into the Hydro-Man. When he realized that he had become a man-of-water, he blamed Spider-Man for his disgrace and started to hunt him (through many showers, sewers and water valves), in order to get revenge on the hero, but was defeated in combat.

Dominic West=Hammerhead

Though Hammerhead's real name is not known, bits of his past have been revealed. Hammerhead's family immigrated from Russia to Italy when he was a child. His father ran a garage in Toirrano, where he insisted a young Hammerhead speak only in Russian, beating him severely with a mallet when he wouldn't. All the while, Hammerhead dreamed of becoming a gangster. He is recruited into the Maggia when a member oversees Hammerhead murdering a childhood bully and his girlfriend in a theatre showing The Godfather.

John Travolta=Kingpin

Wilson Fisk began his life as a poor child, ridiculed by his classmates, as he was an unpopular overweight child. When he was repeatedly harassed by bullies, Fisk began training himself in physical combat. Using his new-found strength, he intimidated the bullies into joining his gang, and he started on the road towards being one of the most successful criminals in New York City. His first gang was a small one with only a few thugs. He eventually was found by crime lord Don Rigoletto. Fisk became Don Rigoletto's bodyguard and right-hand man. Eventually, Fisk killed Don Rigoletto and took control of his gang, immediately becoming one of the most powerful criminals in the city.

Tobin Bell=Spencer Smythe

Professor Spencer Smythe was a robotic and arachnid expert who asked J. Jonah Jameson to fund his projects, having become convinced by Jameson's editorials that Spider-Man was a menace. After watching a demonstration showing that Smythe's robot could sense and track spiders, Jameson hired Smythe to capture Spider-Man. Jameson himself controlled the robot, meaning that Spider-Man found himself chased by a machine with Jameson's face. However, Spider-Man escaped by leaving his Spider-Man suit wrapped in the robot's tentacles.

Ethan Hawke=Alistair Smythe

Alistair Smythe is a comic book supervillain, owned by Marvel Comics and existing in that company's Marvel Universe. He was one of the main foes of Spider-Man. At one point Alistair used a wheelchair, but he later gained the ability to walk after transforming himself into what he called the Ultimate Spider-Slayer.

Benicio Del Toro=Michael Morbius

Dr. Michael Morbius was created in response to the comic-book industry's self-censorship board, the Comics Code Authority, lifting its ban on vampires and certain other supernatural characters in February 1971, and not as a challenge to the code, as many believe.[1] Writer Roy Thomas and penciler Gil Kane created the character as a living man who is given vampiric abilities via scientific rather than supernatural means. Kane was instructed to specifically avoid Gothic fashion elements and design a costume for Morbius that was akin to those of superheroes or supervillains, and he specifically chose the red and blue primary colors that were the staple of characters like Spider-Man and Superman.

Ben Foster=Grey Goblin

Norman Osborn was also ranked as IGN's 13th Greatest Comic Book ..... who goes to an Osborn hideout to obtain gear to become the Grey Goblin.

Shia Labauf=Molten man

Mark Raxton was born in New York City. He was a scientist who could not wait to use his skills to become rich, and once worked at Oscorp Industries, Inc., as the laboratory assistant to Dr. Spencer Smythe, creator of the Spider-Slayers. Raxton and Smythe developed an experimental new liquid metallic alloy for the Spider-Slayers from a radioactive meteor, but Raxton attempted to steal it and sell it for his own profit. In the ensuing fight with Smythe in the laboratory, Raxton spilled the liquid alloy all over himself, his skin absorbing it and turning golden. Fearing for his life, Raxton ran for the nearest hospital, only to discover that the alloy had changed him for the better when he angrily punched an irate motorist's hood, buckling it. Realizing the great potential his new abilities afforded him, Raxton, now calling himself the Molten Man turned to crime to further his gains.

Quinton Jackson=Prowler

Hobie Brown was born in the Bronx, New York. He was a bright, but angry teenage African-American who got fired from his job as a window washer. Intending to use his engineering skills for personal profit, he devised a plan to steal items while disguised as a supervillain and bring them back to his home as Hobie Brown.

However, when he donned his green and purple "Prowler" costume for the first time, he crossed paths with Spider-Man. Spider-Man vanquished and unmasked the Prowler, but realizing he was just a misunderstood kid (much like himself), he gave him advice to not throw his life away as a criminal and to redeem himself.

Sharlto Coply=Big man

Frederick Foswell

Mainstream Marvel Continuity Super Villain. Team = The Enforcers!

The Enforcers appear often in the early issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, debuting in #10, and returning in #14 and #18-19, in the latter two issues teaming with the supervillain the Sandman. The team would go on to appear in Daredevil vol. 1, #86 and #356-357, and Dazzler #7-8, and fight Spider-Man again in Marvel Team-Up #39-40 and #138, The Spectacular Spider-Man #19-20, Spider-Man (1990s series) #94-95, Spider-Man vol. 2, #28, and elsewhere.

Daniel Curtis Lee= Rocket Racer

Robert Farrell, born in Brooklyn, New York, was the eldest of seven children. He became responsible for his younger siblings when his mother, Emma Johnson Farrell died. Robert was a scientific prodigy, and when he realized he couldn't earn enough to support his family, he turned to a life of crime as the Rocket Racer. He developed a super-powered skateboard which is propelled at great speed by small rockets and cybernetically controlled by a crude walkman-like device. He wore a weapon-equipped costume, including rocket-powered gloves which give him the ability to hit an opponent with a "rocket-powered-punch."

Brad Pitt = Will O The Wisp

Jackson Arvad was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. A former employee at Roxxon Oil, he worked in the division dedicated to electromagnetic research as a scientist. Under constant pressure of being fired, Arvad spent lots of time furthering his work on electromagnetism, getting little sleep in the process. He eventually ended up falling asleep on the job, unable to save himself from a laboratory accident that would change his life.

He ended up being caught in the electromagnetic field of a device he was working on, the device weakening the electromagnetic attraction between the molecules in his body, threatening his life. When his boss learned of the accident, he decided to let Arvad die, but not before he demanded any scientific applications the device would've had.
However, Arvad was able to save himself when he learned he was suddenly able to control the level of attraction between his body's molecules.

Jason Isaacs = Morlun

When Spider-Man met a similarly-powered man named Ezekiel, Ezekiel explained to him that Spider-Man's powers were not an accident, and that the spider that had bit him did so voluntarily to pass its abilities onto Peter before it died. This made Spider-Man a "totem," a bridge between man and beast, with the properties of both. Ezekiel then warned Spider-Man that as a totem, he was in danger from those who would seek to destroy such beings. One of those, who showed up soon after, was Morlun.

Mel Gibson = Frank Castle (The Punisher)

The Punisher is a vigilante who employs murder, kidnapping, extortion, coercion, threats of violence and torture in his war on crime. Driven by the deaths of his family, who were killed by the mob when they witnessed a gangland execution in New York City's Central Park, the Punisher wages a one-man war on the mob and all criminals in general by using all manner of conventional war weaponry. His family's killers were the first to be slain. A war veteran, Castle is a master of martial arts, stealth tactics, guerrilla warfare and a wide variety of weapons.

Sandra Bullock = Shriek

Shriek is a dangerous and criminally insane villainess with the ability to manipulate sound. She once allied herself with Carnage and several other supervillains who went about New York on a killing spree.

Shriek's origins and real name are uncertain. She was named Sandra Deel in her earliest appearances, but named Frances Louise Barrison in later appearances. According to the Spider-Man Encyclopedia she was born Frances Louise Barrison, but used Sandra Deel as an alias.

Ryden

Um...I don't really know. Emma Stone is already cast as Gwen, MJ won't be in the film apparently.

Some really, weird choices there though....

Zac Efron for Venom? I'm actually coming around to Zac Efron as an actor, but so far I can't see him in ANY CBM role what so ever. Venom especially becuase, Eddie Brock is a big bulky man without the symbiote, Efron's a bit on the weak side for Venom.

Robert PATTISON for Carnage? I REALLY don't understand this one, Pattison is a terrible, terrible actor. Just really bland and boring, totally underqualified to play Cletus Cassidy.

Tom Hardy as Shocker is a total waste, Hardy's way too good of an actor to be wasted on Shocker. He'd make a better Kraven.

Neeson's too old for GG.

I also don't get Carrey as Jonah, especially when you've got Tom Cruise as Wolfman, and they're about the same age :P

Mel Gibson's far too old to play Frank Castle.

John Cena can't act, and wrestlers should never be in any comic book movie.

Shia Lebouf is a one note actor and is totally all wrong for Molten Man. Molten Man was always a bit bulky and a bit more masculine, LeBouf just does not fit the physicality or personality of the character.

Ashton Kutcher is not like Harry in any way...he's too frat boy.

The Prowler isn't supposed to be a big huge guy, he's supposed to be an everyday dude who decides to fight back against normality. So Randy Jackson's a bit too bulky for the role, and he's not a great actor.

And John Travolta, as fat and crazy as he is...isn't really Kingpin.

Ibz @ I know lol, didn't know about BRUCIE tho, cool!

And YES EMMA STONE is perfect for MJ... [frick]ing SONY lol!

; P

Hellz YES to Michael C Hall as Daredevil!

AlexDeLarge @ I think apart from a few spot on and original!

Just not hot on Venom, Punisher and Kingpin!

PURNELL needs to be VENOM, though he's also cool for RHINO!

Half of this fancast is right on the money such
as EMMA for MJ but half of it is so way off it's
insane (Twilight guy...really?!?)!

KNEPPER should be CARNAGE.

This is a split personality fancast.
I really don't know what to really say here!
MAYBE THAT, I'm Torn? Hrrrmmmmm???

Youknow... more I think about it, EFRON could get way with playing a young EDDIE BROCK!

Frogman @ Hellz yeah, she'd own as BLACK CAT!

What will say if Leonardo de Caprio=Hydro man.(Which would be perfect David Tennnant or Leonardo de Caprio)And what about Jake Gyllenhaal=Puma,I think that Jake Gyllenhaal suits for this role because in film Prince of Persia he was perfect and strong prince and I dont want him be Spiderman because he must be cruel and savage(though he wasnt in film).
AshleyWilliams

3/4 of this is awesome, but some of them are painfully bad(Venom,Carnage,Gwen Stacy,Kingpin). How can Tom Cruise be the son of Jim Carrey?
Stone is the perfect MJ! She'll be great as Gwen though!
I hate your Molten Man. Brad Pitt would be wasted as Will O the Wisp. Emmerson as Doc Ock is genius.
Though some are terrible, the good outweighs the bad!
