We're going to take a break from the more cosmic heroes and The Avengers and go into the more darker, not as popular territory. I've always been a believer that Marvel has succeeded in heroes like Spider-Man, X-Men, The Avengers and more cosmic heroes as The Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer. But, Marvel isn't all fun and games. Their darker heroes, now known as Marvel Knights are equally as interesting. There is one sequel in this Phase and I hate to disappoint but, there won't be another crossover until the big finale in Phase Six. There is also one here that you won't be expecting. The idea starting from here until the final film of Phase Six is that, everywhere in the world, people are sick of superheroes and tired of their cities and towns being destroyed and ruined. The citizens are afraid of the heroes and vigilantes. Here we go, you asked for it and now you're getting it. Welcome to Phase Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
DareDevil
Think of the tone of this like The Dark Knight but darker and more Marvel-esque. Doesn't mean it won't be a fun movie, all Marvel movies are. But, this is more in like with X-Men in taking itself seriously, but more so the case. Very much deals with catholic religion, his no so happy ending childhood and his internal struggles as a character and a hero. This is not a happy man to say the least. But, it's still a superhero blockbuster type movie with all the action and humor of one. He will be taking out the crime in New York City and Hell's Kitchen. Kingpin isn't pleased so, he hires The Gladiator (the look is very much in like in the more aggressive version in the later comics) and Mister Fear. Matt Murdock will finally be tested not only as a hero but, is the Man Without Fear really just that?
Wolverine
This is taking place between X-Men 2 and X-Men 3. We take a look at Wolverine's life and what it's truly like to be a loner. We also see that the past can and will come back to haunt you when a killer from Wolverine's days in the cold war comes back to finish the job given. Communist Russia's very own, Omega Red. Think of action like in Man of Steel but with a little bit more substance as Wolverine looks at his life and wonders if he wants to live anymore.
Namor
I had to do some research on this one cause I've never been too fond of him which yes, questions why he is in my Marvel Cinematic Universe. He's an important character (particularly the Fantastic Four) but, as I said, I wanted to expand the universe. Not just the surface of earth, the mysticism and the cosmic. This is not an origin story. He is very much the King of Atlantis but, as the tone of Phase Four-Six goes, this isn't very Spider-Man but not Dark Knight either. It's about him coming to know what it's like to be a great king, coming to terms with surface dwellers all as he fights off Attuma who has a grand plan for Atlantis. No, don't expect wings on his ankles cause that's just stupid.
Black Panther 2
In Black Panther 2, we see T'Challa struggling to keep peace with Wakanda as they aren't entirely pleased with him. I did change up Erik Killmonger a bit. To fit with the first Black Panther film where he exiled the Hatut Zeraze clan, I made Killmonger part of that clan but took it personal and went to New York nursing a hatred for Klaw and T'Challa. He wants to avenge his father's death during the attack by Klaw. This isn't about Killmonger wanting the throne. It's about pure revenge as he challenges T'Challa to the death as T'Challa is slowly growing out of being a so naïve king.
Heroes for Hire
This is just the Luke Cage and Iron Fist version. It's about their friendship at odds, them considering closing down Heroes for Hire as nobody feels of their need thanks to Spider-Man, X-Men, The Avengers, ect while the Heroes for Hire are forced to take down Chaka and the Golden Tigers. The Golden Tigers look to extend themselves beyond China Town to eventually take down someone as powerful as the Kingpin.
The Punisher
We see Frank Castle in sorrow of the loss of his family, wife and child. He is unsure of himself as he questions whether to be alive or not. He's the substance of Thomas Jane's Punisher and the ruthlessness of Ray Stevenson's Punisher. He dedicates himself to cleaning the streets and in taking out the biggest crime lord outside of the Kingpin, Jigsaw. Jigsaw wants the streets clean of The Punisher and sends Barracuda to finish the job when no one else can.
Personally, I think Heroes for Hire and Namor are my weakest films in Phase Four. What are your guys' thoughts? Comment below with them and if you would like for me to finish my Marvel Cinematic Universe.
