Jason Clarke To Star In DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES; New Plot Details Revealed

Zero Dark Thirty star Jason Clarke has been set as the lead in the anticipated sequel Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, and while his role is currently unknown, we also have some new plot details for the Matt Reeves-directed movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, rising actor Jason Clarke (who recently was featured in Zero Dark Thirty) has been cast in the lead role in 20th Century Fox's Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, which is eying a spring production start date. It is currently unknown who he will play, but THR offers some brand new details on the plot, which is rather secretive up to this point. The sequel to 2011's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) who takes over from Rupert Wyatt, "is set 15 years after the events of 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes. One focus is on the group of human scientists who are struggling to survive alone in San Francisco. Another aspect of the story is the struggle of intelligent ape Caesar, played by a returning Andy Serkis, to maintain dominance over his kingdom." The film will be Clarke's first starring role in an American production. The script is currently being written by Mark Bomback (Total Recall, The Wolverine), with Peter Chernin, Dylan Clarke, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa on board to produce. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes is set to hit theaters May 23rd, 2014.

IT SHOULD BE THE PEOPLE THAT GOT LOST IN SPACE COME BACK TO EARTH AND FIND THE HUMAN POPULATION DECIMATED BY AN OUTBREAK ALLOWING THE INTELLIGENT APES TO FLOURISH AND TAKE OVER.

I really enjoyed RotPotA too, so much that part of me wishes they would remake the original PotA as a sequel, retaining essentially the same script and storyline (unlike Tim Burton's debacle).

When Ceaser says "No" you know it's coming, you've been waiting the entire movie to hear him speak, but when it actually happens...man...I still remember the gasp from the audience.

15 years is a great jump, i dont need to see the "war" between the species, with the way a couple of dozen smart apes handled the shit at the end of Rise its not a hard leap to imagen how Cesar would have fared in those unseen years.

clarke was impressive in zero dark thirty, played his role very well,good addition. I guess the antagonist to cesar will be the ape who had the scar in the first one, there was tension between the two and they were alluding to it aswell
