"The one big difference between Batman: Arkham City and its predecessor, Arkham Asylum, is the fact the latter was set on a segmented island while the former is set in a large, sandbox city.

If you were wondering just how big that city was, check out this clip from my Gamescom demonstration yesterday. This race mode - which isn't actually in the game (it was specifically built for Gamescom to show off the scale of Gotham) - shows that Arkham City is indeed a massive, open city. And, as you'll glimpse from the periphery of the "track", this isn't even showing all of it, just a race between two landmarks."
