@RamonSuarez: I can't see Sony selling back Spidey for anything short of a ridiculously, nauseatingly huge amount, if at all. They're staking pretty much their whole film branch on him, to sell him back to Disney/Marvel would doom it, and they're already struggling as it is.

As far as Feige as head of Disney: Makes perfect sense, plus it's great news for people who like Marvel movies. Feige actually is a huge comic book nerd, if he's calling the shots we'll see Marvel properties greenlit left and right.

Pray that Feige stays at Marvel Studios because that would mean we would have to promote Jeph Loeb, who's like the #2 guy at Marvel Studios and NO ONE wantd him in charge.

I can't see Whedon being too tempted by that role - he's a writer and creator at heart and even though he's also a producer, I just think this would see him leaving what he's best at behind.
And I think he knows this, too.

Bad feelings? Why would there be bad feelings if someone feels they can be more effective in their current position. Most corporations would appreciate that as opposed to being upset by it.

I really feel bad that Disney's incompetence when it came to marketing John Carter led to this, but I think Kevin Feige has the right mix of aggression and vision to make it rain on Disney.

@JKM Of course they wouldn't fire him. But when can you ever really tell your boss no? Even if it's a promotion. Things would definitely get weird between the two. Especially knowing that if Feige turns it down and someone else jumps in, they do their job knowing that Feige was always first choice.

There's no way he would say no... Nobody gets to Feige's position and then says "Yeah, this is far enough." You have to have drive to get as far as he has, and running a major studio is the top slot in the business. You don't pass that up.

As for replacing him, I don't really know. I pray to god they don't even consider any of the comic names... Quesada, Bendis, Loeb. Just... no. It really shouldn't be a director, because I'd rather those people kept on directing rather than being an exec.

If Feige was granted more power he may try to reacquire some of the properties outside of Marvel like Spidey, FF and X-Men so that they can be done right.

It happens every day in corporate America. It is not as big of a deal as some may make it out to be.

Brilliant suggestion! Never crossed my mind. Joss Whedon would make an excellent replacement. Disney needs Kevin Feige's mind (and money?) involved in all of their projects. Joss Whedon knows how to work epic scale, large fanbase TV series without getting stale. He'll keep the MCU running for years. Each phase would be like writing a season arc.
