A small update on the role of original Godzilla actor Akira Takarada in Gareth Edwards' reboot [via Dread Central].

Apparently Takarada's cameo will be in the very first scene of the Godzilla reboot as a symbolic link to the original Godzilla. Takarada has already filmed his cameo and is back in Japan.

Not that I have any confidence in Ninja Turtles, but Ritchson also starred on Blue Mountain State, on which he out-shined everyone else. I don't think his opinion here really changes my expectations, but I think Ritchson will be one of the few redeeming qualities the film presents.

The whole of New York for the final battle was CG. They were planning to use the real locations but there were concerns about smashing the half the city to shit. Apparently some people weren't cool with that.
