There should not even have been a need for Geoff to tweet this. It's common sense that Productions use false titles all the [frick]ing time. It's as if Comic fans are becoming stupider by the day! I'm ashamed to even call myself a fan now, because of these low IQ twats!

It should be on Showtime or HBO, though, and be a little more risque and violent IMO.

Avoid speculation??

OHHH so Iris is that other Amazonian warrior being adapted for the CW... -_-

If it helps connect a teen/family market, who has practically lost all interest in Wonder Woman, I say, "it can't be a bad idea if done right. Anything that they can do to bring these characters into the public conscious and make them relevant again is a good idea."

Well at least Geoff Johns has some sense over how a Wonder Woman show should be made.

i want to believe this project will work.

WB has a lot of setbacks in the minds of fans, and we will always compare their progress with Marvel Studios.

They gotta start hitting many things out of the park, not just from the Batman franchise.

I'd rather see a Wonder Woman film made by Nicolas Winding Refn with Christina Hendricks as Diana!!!

Not really sure why they wanna do a Smallville version of Wonder Woman. Doesn't make alot of sense to me.

this show sounds more like the Conan than Wonder Woman. A warrior from uncivilized lands comes to roam through civilization with awe. The last Wonder Woman they tried didn't work out great but at least that was a Wonder Woman show. not Ms. Conan

Told you. Anyone who freaked out about that and thought they would actually name her Iris is an idiot. Use your brain, people. And that wasn't a synopsis of the show, just a casting call description.

Since the idea of accepting the belief that Greek gods exist is difficult for most audiences to get on board with, has anyone considered giving it the Thor treatment? Instead of actual gods, Zeus, Ares etc are just extremely powerful aliens who the Amazons (themselves aliens with ancestry similar to Kryptonians) worship and believe to be gods. It would be hard but they could walk the fence on that issue and only allude to them being aliens without really saying yes or no. It's a thought, cause we don't know how WB plans to address the mythical and magical part of DC comics yet

Well its actually pretty embarrassing he had to clarify this to fans lol.
Vadakin
Vadakin - 11/30/2012, 11:48 AM
@super12 I don't see how it would be difficult to accept the Greek gods existence. I like Thor but the last thing they should do is go down that road. DC/WB need to embrace the mythological aspect, not run away from it. Audiences will accept it if it's good. Imagine changing Harry Potter so that the magic was just advanced science...it just doesn't work.

Let there be an Olympus and an underworld and a Themyscira. Let Diana go toe to toe with Ares and Hades, let her fight gods and monsters, not cosmetic companies. Also, screw the New 52's "Zeus' daughter" angle. Let her be made from clay. Greek mythology in a contemporary setting with a badass female lead. It's really very simple.

Minghagz - 11/30/2012, 11:51 AM
WW needs a movie now. The TV show has already been done and it's been attempted to be done again.

Utilize the New 52 as a foundation for a movie.

"Lets get one thing straight. Johns is a hell of a writer."

Johns may be an imaginitive, successful COMIC BOOK writer, but as a writer in the literary sense...nope.
Jer3miah
Jer3miah - 11/30/2012, 1:22 PM
Uh... [Before] she becomes WW? Doesn't that remind anyone of an abominable show by a certain red cape-wearing hero who starts off in Kansas?
redlion
redlion - 11/30/2012, 1:44 PM
Geoff Johns doesn't inspire the greatest of confidence in this project. I just wish they would scrap the television idea all together and make a WW film.
