SCOOP: Jenny Olsen Is NOT Replacing Jimmy Olsen In MAN OF STEEL

A lot of people have been up in arms thinking that Jimmy Olsen would be replaced in Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel by a female version of the character named Jenny. While Jenny will be in the movie, she is not replacing Jimmy.

A while back, an IMDB listing showed that actress Rebecca Buller (Pictured left with Laurence Fishburne) was playing Jenny Olsen in the upcoming Superman film, Man Of Steel. Then it was suggested that what Warner Brothers has done is replaced the character of Jimmy Olsen, with Jenny. While this rumor was unconfirmed it has seen it's fair share of fan uproar and backlash.

What I can tell you though, via my source close to the movie, is that Jenny will NOT be replacing Jimmy in the movie. Jenny will be Jimmy's sister. There will even be a reference to Jimmy in the movie, although I was not told what it is.When I asked what Jenny's job in Man Of Steel would be, I was simply told "No comment."

So what we can take away from this is that yes, Jenny Olsen will be in Man Of Steel, but she will NOT be replacing Jimmy like the rumors said. She will be his sister, and be featured in this first Man Of Steel movie. For the latest on all things Man Of Steel, make sure to check back here at CBM.

^I like this man Ror's thinking! Even if she was completely replacing Jimmy Olsen and becoming the female version of him, I don't see the big deal. Same thing with people whining about Lois Lane being a redhead. Amy Adams is gorgeous and is a great actress, she'll own her role

Thats good news.

I always find it interesting when people say things like "who cares he's a uselss character" or when they change superheroes in the comics, "who cares he/she was a stupid character" "b-list" etc.
The fact is SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE cares for the character being changed. Its easy not to care when you dont care for the character, but we dont all like the same things. Always try to imagine if a character you like is being changed, how would you feel. THATS how someone feels EVERYTIME a change happens, EVEN about Jimmy. (not me personally for Jimmy, BUT im happy they didnt lose the character)

Anyone who's a true Superman fan knows that Jimmy is basically Superman's own Robin. Aside from Lois, he's the only other friend that Clark has and is a huge part of mythos.

Superman fans will be affected by the lose of Jimmy, yes. He was a fairly major supporting character of Superman. If you read the comics, that's fairly obvious to anyone.

Contrary to popular belief gender and ethnicity can matter. Ethnicity not so much depending on where the story takes place. Gender though matters a lot.

I'm hoping that Jimmy and other missing characters are just out of the game so that they don't try to shoehorn every character in.
