I'm surprised at all the praise this movie's getting. I thought it was a total cheese fest, but maybe I just need to see it again. 2 was the only one I thought this beat.

I wish I liked watching Tom Cruise on screen, but I don't. He just annoys me.

Looks like a lot of action, but some of it looks a little over-the-top and more than a bit of a stretch...we all seem to buy into it though.

@Ranger14- Totally agree. Based upon want people have threaded here, it's sounds like a pretty good action flick, and I don't doubt their opinions, but DAMN-!, man I just cannot look at that guy in ANYTHING and get past how effin' nuts he is in real life.

So let us pray: " Lord , please never allow Tom Cruise to be cast for a major role in a CBM. I know I'm not pertect, and you know I'm a good man, so please grant me this ONE request."

Thank you!
Aaaaaaa- mennnnnnn!

Brad Bird as director of Thor 2! Let's get that campaign going before it's too late.

It continues to amaze me how people will rip apart Transformers for being so stupid, and yet completely overlook the mammoth leaps in logic this script asks people to make. The action sequences are well-executed and the cinematography well-done, but this has to be one of the dumbest scripts I've ever seen actually make it to the screen. This film also has to be the best-received action movie with as underdeveloped villains as the ones in this movie.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the people who liked this film, but I'm genuinely surprised at the amount of praise this film is getting. I really feel like I'm in Bizarro world.

Amqazing the amount of Tom Cruise dissing here, based on what, his private life? You give a crap about the private life of the woman checking your items at the gorcery store or the Doctor fixing your broken leg? How's what they beleive or practice in life got anything to do with their ability to perform their jobs well?

Point! He hasn't starred in a flop movie in his life, no matter how much people like to think his films are no longer successful they always make more than twice back what they cost to make worldwide!

It's a good thing the rest f the world are not as shallow and stupid as you Americans by trying to associate peoples personal lives with their ability to perform on screen, we're a whole lot mature on the other side of the Atlanctic. Tom Cruise literally always delivers a fine performance in everything his does, be it action, comedy or drama. This latest MI movie hasn't even gone into wide release yet and its already almost made back its budget from IMAX alone.

Infact it made more money today than every film that came out at the weekend in wide release from Just IMAX cinemas! Read it and moan your shallow bunch!

Ceejay- agreed. Proof is in the pudding.

Plus, he's not the only actor that's involved in Scientology, but seems to be the only one who gets sh*t for it:

Nice review, Josh. And I agree. This movie was fantastic. I'll be seeing it on IMAX soon, seeing as how my experience with the film was poor quality and online. But, as with the previous three, I will see this one on the big screen.

Movie was good but not 5 star good, I'd actually want to see Brad Bird direct Captain America though.

@Mainstream I agree the villain as weak but after thinking about it the difficulty of the mission is the focus and what sets these movies apart from other spy thrillers.

CeeJay@ I don't think Cruise is that great of an actor. He has gotten by on his looks and what some will call "charm", but he annoys me. My opinion. Even if he were a great actor, I still wouldn't care much for him because I do find him annoying and I am not going to pay money to see him in the theater. Netflix at best. I don't have a choice of who my checkout lady is, but I can choose who I pay to see for two hours on a big screen. Don't know what you categorize as a flop, but I certainly don't think Knight and Day, Lion for Lambs, Eyes Wide Shut, Far and Away and Days of Thunder weren't exactly what I would call hits.
