Damn Depp has been doing some mediocre work lately. Transcendence was just aiming for this sophisticated scientific type of film with a somewhat boring and convoluted message that prob seems boring to casual moviegoers. The director was trying to make a scuff film with some hidden message about our world and technology and the future of it...a film that says something. Tryna be like Nolan but the approach and execution was bad.

Damn, those are dramtically bad numbers for Pfister and Depp! :O I'd been really excited about Transcendence once, but the more I saw of it the less interesting it looked.

How's Edge of Tomorrow performing at the BO these days? I finally managed to watch it two days ago with some friends, and we all liked it a lot. It was just an all around enjoyable experience, though not exactly spectactularly innovative or anything. Definitely deserves to be successful!

YEAAH NFS was a good movie with the seriousness rather than F&F comedy. I hope it gets a sequel with Aaron Paul.

Amell should totally be in the JL movie, but I understand WB for not making him part of the original roaster, an exceptional archer without superhuman powers teaming with godlike beings, sound awfuly similar to Marvel's Hawkeye live-action version, so it's good they deviate a lil' from that.

I guess Depp won't be Doctor Strange since he's not a hit with the crowd anymore. As for Arrow in the DCCU, i'd say no. I prefer a big budget "Green Arrow" film with a different actor to portray the emerald archer.

Well one thing I know for sure is that DoFP is at $673,425,285 WW and it won't be too long until it smacks past 700million :,) looks like all of the big named CBMs are have/re going to hit that 700million this year! :D

Very misleading box office report, at least suggesting Need for Speed is a somewhat successful movie. Disney is not pleased with the return on this movie in the least & this guy is suggesting Need for Speed box office numbers are good enough for a sequel?

Follow the math in the 3 key box offices:

1. US box office theaters keep ~50% of ticket sales
2. Non Asian overseas theaters keep ~70% of ticket sales
3. Asian theaters keep ~83% of ticket sales

Need for Speed Box Office

1. US box office: $43.5 million (Disney makes $21.8 million from US box)

2. Overseas (Non Asian) box office: $88.2 million (Disney makes $26.5 million from overseas non Asian market)

3. Asian box office: $71.5 million (Disney makes $12.2 million from Asian box office)

So in all:
1. Disney US box office take: $21.8 million
2. Disney non Asian market overseas box office take: $26.5 million
3. Disney Asian box office take: $12.2 million

Disney TOTAL BOX OFFICE TAKE from Need for Speed: $60.5 million

Add in the production / advertising budget of $105 million and Need for Speed is in the RED $44.5 million dollars.

Perhaps it breaks even in 5 years on DVD, Blu-Ray, Cable sales, etc. but this is not a movie that was successful at the box office.

I want Green Amell to cameo/exist in the DC cinematic, but I'm not at all fond of the CW flash being attached.

So I guess that leaves me up shit creek.
