It begins and ends with one man.

Dr. Doom.

The character...the history...the narrative...has Oscar/Emmy Gold written al over it should it be done by the right people whether in a series or as a set or films.

My dream casting for the MCU is Margot Robbie as Emma Frost.

@MCUKnight11 - I've been thinking Rebecca Ferguson but there's a lot of good choices
Goldboink
Goldboink - 3/4/2021, 8:14 AM
Malakeith - never
Gobby - absolutely
Lex Luthor - Snyder couldlnt' have screwed that up any worse. Making Superman's nemesis a doofus throwaway character is among the high crimes he has committed against American Popular Culture
Ultron - yea, I don't think so but it's more of a possibility than a lot of the others.
Scarecrow - Cillian Murphy did a fine job. Are there no other villains that can fight Batman? Does some other studio own the rights to Condiment King?
Bullseye - again this is played out and if DD does come back he will not be on his own for at least a decade.
Doom - This is among the most criminally underserved characters in the rape of Marvel properties by others. He will be showing up and that right soon.
Bane - Again, can we get another of Batman's nemeses already? Jeep Swenson was far and away the definitive Bane.
Emma Frost will be waiting a decade or more. X-Men are a long way off.
Galactus - This takes the cake and all major awards for screwing up an epic character to epic proportions. Tim Story and those hack writers who thought it would be a good idea to make Galactus an amorphous space cloud will live in infamy. We will see him soon in all his purple helmeted glory.

@Goldboink - "Again, can we get another of Batman's nemeses already"

That's what Joker fans can't seem to get their heads around. Hilarious joke about Swenson BTW.

Why Batman Begins was so awesome. None of the usual characters.

Bullseye was already great and should be brought back. Malekith under Waititi would be cool.

We've seen Goblin enough times already. Do Hobgoblin and the Dark avengers before then.

tripttwe - 3/4/2021, 2:42 PM
@MCUKnight11 - Hobgoblin before GG? That's a bit weird, but good writing can make it work. I think the Kingpin needs to happen with Hobgoblin. I'd like to see Peter take on street level villains in his next outing from the shadows. Introduce Hammerhead, Tombstone, along with Daredevil. Peter takes on underworld crimes which lead to top tier villainous consequences. And for goodness sake, make the Hongoblin look like a freaking gremlin! ... of course this is wishful thinking. I'm sure we'll have 30-45 mins of comedy arcs and relationship complications, ya know, just cause. Silly me.

Wait, is Bane iconic?!😂 Because of Knightfall? I disrespectfully disagree with that!😂 I'd like to see the character again. But only as a side villain. His character motivation is usually pretty weak in the comics, even if you don't include Tom King's run.😂 That's likely why Nolan attached him to The League of Shadows (Assassins). Making him more of mercenary/terrorist, than just a dude that wants to out muscle Batman.

bkmeijer2 - 3/4/2021, 8:24 AM
@99OPTIMISTPRIME - and in my opinion, Bane was well done in TDKR. Just like Scarecrow in Begins, we don't need those characters again.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 3/4/2021, 8:23 AM
I think with the characters being in Marvel Studios' hands now, I think it's a given we'll get Galactus and Doom one day. It might be another 10 years, but they'll be there.

Lex Luther definitely deserves a second chance though. I didn't mind Eisenberg's performance, but he wasn't Lex. Just recon him into Lex jr. and bring in the real Lex.

“ (Bane was) rebooted by Christopher Nolan in The Dark Knight Rises. That led to one of the best fight scenes we've seen in a comic book movie...”

...really? Well, to each their own...
tripttwe
tripttwe - 3/4/2021, 2:46 PM
@Chewtoy - seriously. Nolan's fight scenes in the 3rd film were the absolute worst. The new Batman trailer beatdown was miles ahead of any fight scene in TDKR. That was old school camera angles with tv show western punches. We saw better fighting in the 99 Matrix.
Awest66
Awest66 - 3/4/2021, 3:18 PM
@Chewtoy - The Batman/Bane sewer fight scene was pretty damn spectacular, It wasn't trying to be a slickly choreographed dance off, It was a brutal one-sided beat down and it succeeded at beautifully.

Awest66
Awest66 - 3/4/2021, 8:04 PM
@tripttwe - How about I disagree then? The sewer fight in TDKR? I'll go to bat and say its better than any other fight scene between those characters in any other medium.

Don't really see how that one scene in the Batman trailer was "miles ahead of it" either.
tripttwe
tripttwe - 3/5/2021, 1:41 AM
@Awest66 - - your disagreement works for me. To defend my prior statement, I believe it's better because it looks like an actual asskicking. I was totally taken out of TDKR once the fighting began. I'll never forget the feeling of seeing punches that look nowhere near an actual connection. The mask smash was epic, but other than that, meh. Even the signature back breaking looked like theater wiring. Go back and take a look. Lemme know what ya think...

Yeah, after the Green Goblin we got in Amazing Spider-Man I'm looking forward to one that actually comes off menacing instead of goofy.
