Bringing them back for another event film might be nice but I think I'd like to see someone else have a go at it.

The Russos are single-handedly (or double-handedly) responsible for most of the best films in the MCU. That fact that they managed to pull of Infinity War and Endgame means that they are capable of pulling off anything. Legitimately, give them anything and I bet they could make it amazing.

I'd rather see different directors who understand that battles dont simply stop happening around people when one or two combatants decide to stand around talking - both from a visual and audio sense.

Other than the set-up of the final battle, Endgame's final battle was a mess. Lots of quick cuts, lots of dulled down imagery to make everyone look dark/grey, lots of characters standing around chatting or simply standing around doing one thing the entire battle (Doctor Strange). No point giving characters awesome scenes or epic costumes if you choose to obscure both respectively.

My biggest concern with them as directors would be seeing them continue this flaw into a character like Galactus. Can easily picture them forgetting Galactus is meant to be causing chaos/destruction around the characters solely so Norrin Radd can talk with his family without much background noise.

Plus, they kind of turned Endgame into a showreel for everything they had worked on previously, so i'd rather not see that repeated when they get a new project that might be the last Marvel film they do.

Whatever they decide to do they should have Markus and McFeely onboard to write, they are the Fab Four of CBMs.

The X-Men and The Fantastic Four. Keep them away from the Hulk, they don't know how to use him.

They're hanging around because they're projects outside Marvel haven't been great or that well-received.

I mean do you blame them? RDJ came to the same realization when the Judge flopped, same with Hemsworth after MIB and literally everything else he's done outside the MCU.

Gotta respect Evans a lot, he doesn't care about the money and wants to do different things creatively like direct.

Winter Soldier is great as is infinity war on the whole (It was better than Endgame for me)but Civil War and Endgame are just missing something. I feel they have trouble with highly powered characters, Thor's power level was all over the place.

The pacing and tome of Endgame is off and there's such a lack of action until the big bust up at the end which only actually lasts 20 minutes. The killing of Thanos isnt a fight, the Cap on Cap fight is over very quickly as it the Hawkeye vs Black widdow confrontation. Action films are supposed to be a roller coaster of highs and lows but it was all a bit on one level with a couple of bumps.

Compare that to Ultron - yes a divisive film but it starts with a multi character battle, another multi character battle in avengers tower, then another in the ship which leads to the Hulkbuster/Hulk battle and finally the big battle in Sokovia.

Mainly for me they are missing that extra little bit of magic.

"I grew on up [John] Byrne's X-Men run," he said. "Ben Grimm was a favorite character growing up, the Thing. And Fantastic Four is now in the Marvel fold. There's a lot. Silver Surfer is an amazing character. Going really big in cosmic would be a lot of fun. So there's a lot of things that could attract us."

@Battabing

lol. Bingo. I only care about their next Non-MCU project that they are directing.

Their MCU efforts were good to great and a bit flawed. After Endgame I'm not that interested in another Russo MCU project.

MCU needs to hire indie talent and continue hiring directors who a are floundering and give them some direction and vision.

I'm sure it's by design to hype Disney+, but I am way more excited for most of their content than I am for the upcoming movie slate. Honestly, I think Blade would work better as a series and if they had the budget, they could better flesh out the X-Men through a series rather than a movie.

Then again, it really comes down to bang for your buck. I probably get more watching quality programing from the comfort of my home, they probably get more from tentpole blockbusters.
