There will now be 2 years between our duelling Jungle Book movies, as Andy Serkis' take on the classic story has been pushed back to 2017. We also have some lovely concept art for Disney's version, which will be directed by Jon Favreau.

Reports are coming in that Warner Bros. has pushed Andy Serkis' Jungle Book: Origins (which will feature the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Naomie Harris) back almost a year, with the performance-capture heavy adaptation now hitting theaters on 6 October 2017. Gerard Butler's Geostorm will take its original release date of Oct. 21, 2016. Iron Man director Jon Favreau's version for Disney will be a a CG/live-action hybrid starring Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Scarlett Johansson and Idris Elba, and that arrives in the US on 9 October 2015, and the UK on 16 October 2015. Here is some official concept art from that, featuring Mowgli and Bagheera the panther.
