A New Wizarding War Begins In Epic FANTASTIC BEASTS AND THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD Trailer And Poster

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Fantastic Beasts and The Crimes of Grindelwald and it teases a new wizarding war which will pit Albus Dumbledore against the evil Gellert Grindelwald...

With Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald set to focus on the rivalry between Albus Dumbledore and the villainous magician the sequel is named after, we don't really know what role Eddie Redmayne's magizoologist will end up playing in the J.K. Rowling penned release. However, this trailer changes that by making it clear he'll actually be working as a proxy of sorts for his teacher.

There's not a huge amount of Johnny Depp in the teaser (probably because a lot of fans have campaigned for him to be removed from the project after claims made by his ex-wife Amber Heard) but we do get a glimpse of his villain and a better idea of what he has planned for the Wizarding World.

Overall, it's a great trailer and one which is sure to get fans excited about what's to come in the movie.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is set to be released on November 16th, 2018. The first instalment earned $814 million at the worldwide box office, so while this franchise isn't quite matching the Harry Potter movies, there's no reason to think this story won't continue being told over multiple movies. What do you guys think of this trailer and poster? Let us know your thoughts down below.

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
