Ghost Rider: SOV Directors Say The Movie Will Really Stretch Its PG13 Rating

Some fans were disappointed when it was announced that the quasi Ghost Rider sequel would not have an R rating. Well while speaking to MTV Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor promise that we will still be getting plenty of violent carnage despite the more child friendly PG13..

As we now know, Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance will, like the vast majority of CBMs, carry a PG13 rating. Many fans hoped that this time around they would get to see the character really cut loose with an R rating, especially when the duo behind the insane Crank movies were announced as directors. But according to them the rating won't affect the onscreen violence as apparently the MPAA are much happier with people being burned to death than you might think..

"We figured out all the tricks. You can kill a lot of people by burning them up and turning them into ash. That's what you can do," Neveldine explained. Taylor added, "Fire is your friend for the MPAA."

"We knew going in that it was going to be PG-13, we just pushed the envelope as far as we could. We thought we'd get more pushback from the MPAA; we didn't. There's f-bombs in the movie, there's swear words. We have a giant body count."

"Bullets can be flying, tons and tons of rounds of bullets. It's just if you can eliminate some of the blood, you can go a lot further with it."
