This year Marvel released upon the world a film about a group of unknown "misfits" to critical acclaim.
Even before that film wasreleased, many people fell in love with an obscure talking raccoon and a seven foot tall tree-like being.

Among those people who loved the film and characters was a collective of artists known as the Poster Posse, who decided to show their enthusiasm for the film by releasing a collection of art in tribute to Guardians of the Galaxy. The project was split into two parts, Phase 1 and Phase 2.

The art was so well received that James Gunn started to share their project via social media. The project was such a tremendous hit that Marvel partnered with them and released their art officially at comic conventions and at film premieres.

Today, Orlando Arocena has released two amazing works of art to celebrate the near release of Guardians of the Galaxy on home media and to celebrate the Mexican holiday, Dia De Los Muertos.

PosterPosse.com, which happens to be the home site where the groups art is published, asked him about the "story" behind the art:

I decided to create something special in vector this holiday. Yes, I'm Mexican and Yes, I LOVE Marvel's / James Gunn's SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER - Guardians of the Galaxy! What better way to honor heritage and movie cult-ure than with a vector parody? "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY DIA DE LOS MUERTOS!" -
