Need to keep Gunn welll away from any of those franchises where heroes have ‘super’ powers. He has no idea how to handle those characters and will bring them back to being tech based. Nova Corp is a prime example of this.

@DarthLaney - I get what you are saying but that feels tenuous at best. I mean he gave peter quill powers in gotg2, and i would argue drax has super strength and groots physical abilities would count as super powers. He did [frick] up the nova corp though.

@TheBillCipher - yeah but those characters have not got ‘super’ powers they are alien abilities that everyone of their species would have. They are normal, not super. Look at how the original guardians were handled. Star hawk, Aleta, where’s Vance Astro? All with enhanced abilities that have not been shown or even implied. Starlirds ‘powers’ were due to him being a conduit to /for his father, he did not actually get any new abilities that remained with him once unplugged.

@DarthLaney - Yeah but then by that logic, superman has "alien abilities" if his species has yellow sunlight or martian manhunter. Or the original marvel captain marvel. I DO GET YOUR POINT.

It's just i don't think there is enough of there to say he would downgrade them all to tech.

@DarthLaney - To be fair, Nova Corp being tech based was more than likely a studio mandate, but other studios throwing caution to the wind led Feige to give his filmmakers more creative freedom, and there's a possibility they won't be tech based anymore.

The enitre point of his firing was that they don't want "pedophilia and rape" associated with a Disney property. They won't be working with him again in a public way.

@Unites - Nah... the social/political climate will change and all of this will be old news that won’t be able to get “outrage” traction a second time. If he directs successes for other studios, he’ll be a comeback story if it’s a story at all.

The only thing holding Disney back now is the headache of Trump supporters screaming foul and Alan Horn having to admit he might have made a mistake by being too hasty. 2 years from now, neither of those are likely to be factors.

I doubt marvel will work with him again any time soon. Honestly it’ll be interesting to see any other projects he may have lined up

I'm pretty sure he isn't gonna do a cbm and/or big tentpole film for a while. He'll stay quiet. At least until the dust settles and the collective memory of Hollywood slowly forgets about this scandal once another pops up.

Over half of these are Marvel/Disney properties. If Disney won't hire him for GOTG3 they're not going to hire him for anything else. It's all a PR move. This article is dumb.
