GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Director James Gunn Responds To Vin Diesel's Recent "Alpha Groot" Comments GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Director James Gunn Responds To Vin Diesel's Recent "Alpha Groot" Comments

Vin Diesel recently made headlines by claiming we'll meet "Alpha Groot" in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and director James Gunn has now weighed in on that and some changes he's making to the script...

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has been fielding questions about Vol. 3 on Twitter today, and the filmmaker has been clearing up some big rumours. For starters, he's clarified who has actually read the screenplay for the film he'll start working on once he's done with The Suicide Squad.

As you can see below, the director is still making some minor alterations to the script, something which is no great surprise now it's coming later than expected (and after Thor: Love and Thunder).

Gunn has also weighed in on those recent comments from Bloodshot star Vin Diesel about Vol. 3 introducing "Alplha Groot." Since then, fans have been wildly speculating about what that means, but the writer and director has confirmed that the actor hasn't read the screenplay (and that he has no idea what he was referring to when it comes to the sentient tree's future in the MCU).

It's obvious that Groot will continue to evolve, and our first signs of that will more than likely come when the Guardians reportedly return in Taika Waititi's next Thor movie. However, it's Gunn who will take charge of whatever comes next for the fan-favourite hero, and that's exciting for a lot of reasons.

Check out his Tweets below, and stay tuned for more updates on the threequel!

Yeah I don’t take anything Vin says as gospel. I’m sure he said Groot was gonna fight Hulk in Infinity War at one point.

Vin talking about this "Alpha Groot" definitely got my interest, but either way, I'm beyond hyped for Guardians Vol. 3 because of all the implications it has for Phase 4.

I'm hoping we get to see adult Groot again, as he was my favorite groot, but I think it will just adolescent Groot again

Let us just get back to Adult Groot please. He was taken too soon, and both since haven't been as good; in that Baby and Teen have both been relegated to the novelties of their age.
