While we're all excited for Zack Snyder's Justice League, that won't be the filmmaker's only movie heading to a streaming service this year, and we now have a new look at Netflix's Army of the Dead...

While all eyes may be on Zack Snyder's Justice League right now, the filmmaker's next movie looks set to be every bit as exciting. Snyder made his big screen directorial debut with Dawn of the Dead, and he's now returning to the world of zombies for Netflix's star-studded Army of the Dead

Empire Magazine recently caught up with the filmmaker, and a newly revealed still shows Omari Hardwick's Vanderohe...and his badass saw.

"It’s a rescue saw," Snyder explains. "You could basically cut a car door off with it if you had to, or cut a hole in a wall to get away. But you could also kill a zombie. And that’s gonna happen, right?"

Vanderohe will be part of a crew led by Dave Bautista's Scott Ward as they head to Las Vegas for the heist of a lifetime.

"These guys are just a little bit better at killing zombies than my team in Dawn was," the director teases. "They were making it up as they went along. Whereas in this movie, we arrived at expert zombie killers. It’s incredibly fun to look at and design a world where this handful of amazingly gifted zombie killers are happy to ply their trade in a literal sea of the dead."

You can check out this newly revealed still from Army of the Dead below:

We actually caught up with Hardwick last year, and he dropped some hints about what we can expect from Snyder's zombie movie. Check that out by watching our full interview with the actor.

A zombie zombie movie.

@Goldboink - Is the zombie craze going downhill? Have you seen all the zombie movies on Netflix? Its pretty crazy. But if you are tired of zombies, I recommend watching Kingdom. Its still zombies, but its in early Korea and very unique. Flint lock rifles are a thing, but they are rare, and not very effective considering how long they take to reload. Most everyone fights with samurai swords.

Its fantastic. I highly recommend it.

Shit just got me thinking. Zack would be perfect for a Gears of War movie.

@Nunyabiz - 5 is a stain on the Gears franchise. I liked the story, I'll give it that. Everything else is a huge letdown.

I really enjoy Snyder as a director, but have disagreed with A LOT of his DC vision and decisions(Have yet to see the Cut).

But I can't wait for this movie and his future projects outside of the DCEU again. I am so pumped for this.

@Menks123 - I believe the problem with Snyder's "vision" is that he's just trying to emulate Frank Miller's violence without character work or social commentary.

@HannibalLecter - More along the line of Frank Miller's morose wold building with Alan Moore's violence.

I'm sure at the end of the movie they (or some of them) get the money but the zombies break off of Las Vegas quarantine and they can't spend the money, this is so predictable

Or the city could get nuked at the end, Resident Evil-style. That's what this interview seems to suggest:

@HannibalLecter -
To be fair, Snyder does say that Army of the Dead will have social satire in it (same interview linked above). Zombie films, especially those from the king himself George Romero, were made famous by social commentary. Though let's be honest: they were never truly subtle about it. Dawn of the Dead (1978), Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, even his recent posthumous The Living Dead novel (arguably rivalling Zombie Survival Guide as the ultimate zombie novel) all beat the reader over the head with their political satire. They are still pretty good, though. I think zombie is one genre that suits Zack's sensibilities.

I want Omari Hardwick to be the new Luke Cage if they go with a reboot for the MCU.
