Before he jetted off to the galaxy far, far away for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, John Boyega had already come to Hollywood's attention for his performance in Joe Cornish's acclaimed sci-fi horror/comedy Attack the Block.

Fans have been clamoring for a sequel since the movie was released almost a decade ago, and now we finally have a positive update from Cornish.

“We've got ideas. I met with John a couple of months ago to talk about it," the filmmaker revealed while appearing on the Script Apart Podcast. "We've always had ideas after the first one, but obviously we've both been busy doing different things. In a way, the longer you leave it, the more interesting it is. So that's all I'll say.”

While things are clearly in the very early planning stages, it does sound like an Attack the Block sequel is a definite possibility. Boyega already has several other projects in various stages of development - and he's only going to get busier after that passionate BLM speech - but the actor does seem keen to reprise the role of Moses at some point.

What do you guys think? Would you be interested in a sequel to Attack the Block? Let us know in the usual place.

All depends on the idea, but I would be down. The first is a classic.

I always imagined an ATB sequel having an Akira, Escape From New York type vibe.

The inner city of London has become a closed off, post-apocalyptic zone where the aliens have bred and grown in population in the years since arrival. Moses didn't kill them all, some were hibernating elsewhere. He and his crew battle greedy politicians, crazed scientists and a powerful military who want to breach the zone and experiment on the aliens; at the expense of those who are still stuck within the area.

I never liked that movie because the main characters reminded me too much of the shit head hoodlums I had to deal with on a daily basis in Tottenham. God that place was a dump!

Awesome movie, with a cool creature design and brutal gore. But I'd rather see them do another fresh project, even if it's very similar. The teen leads were just too damn obnoxious; although Boyega had a great arc and became a great lead by the end. Obviously this wouldn't be much of an issue necessarily in a sequel, but if it revolves around young jackwagons like that again, that wanes my interest.

I’ve only seen him in Star Wars but man, he’s a god awful actor. Can you huff and puff and sweat some more?
