Showtime announced that the upcoming ninth season of Dexter, which is now officially titled Dexter: New Blood, is set to premiere on November 7 during this evening's Comic-Con@Home panel, and we also have a full trailer which should give fans a much better idea of what to expect from the highly-anticipated revival.
Set a decade after the polarizing events of the "series finale," New Blood finds the eponymous serial killer (Michael C. Hall) living under the assumed name of Jim Lindsay in a small town far away from his old haunt in Miami. Dexter appears to have moved on with his life and is attempting to put his bloody past behind him, but old habits die hard, and something tells us he'll soon be reaching for that scalpel!
As previously reported, John Lithgow and Jennifer Carpenter will return as the Trinity Killer and Dexter's sister, Deb. Of course, both characters were killed off, and are only expected to appear in flashbacks. New cast members include Clancy Brown as the primary villain, Julia Jones as the town’s chief of police, Alano Miller as a sergeant/high school wrestling coach, Johnny Sequoyah as the chief’s daughter, and Jack Alcott as Randall.
