Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis, who will be returning for the upcoming sequel, gave us even more good news relating to the new film recently. The actress admitted to Yahoo that she has seen a trailer for the new chapter in the series, the good news being that she describes it as "terrifying."

I’ve seen a trailer and I’ve seen some footage, and it’s terrifying. They went full-tilt boogeyman. And I’ve never said that in my life, and I will say full-tilt boogeyman for the rest of the year as I go around talking about this.

Curtis starred as Laurie Strode in the original 1978 film which was directed by John Carpenter.

Speaking of Carpenter; some more good news for Halloween fans came from Blumhouse Productions head Jason Blum, who officially confirmed the franchise's creator will be returning to score the film.

Carpenter has already been confirmed to be involved with the sequel, lending guidance to director David Gordon Green and writer Danny McBride, as well as showing up on-set during production to help out.

This confirmation came on behalf of Blum who answered a fan's question during a Twitter thread - a thread which Blum started by announcing that he's seen the film for a second time. Blum has previously stated his confidence in the upcoming film, telling Digital Spy how, after seeing it for the first time, he's very excited for people to see it.

I feel really good about it, I saw a cut of it two nights ago. I think David did a terrific job. He did everything I hoped he would do which is respect the DNA of the franchise and bring something totally new to it and we're really very very excited for people to see it.
With the new teaser poster, Curtis' comments, and Blum's assurance, it seems Halloween fans will finally be getting a sequel/reboot worthy of the title. And with the new film debuting in theaters on October 19th, hopefully we'll get to see that trailer soon.

Are you excited for the new Halloween? What do you think about Curtis and Blum's comments?

@JK2point0 - yeah, at the time I joined this site, I had a 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ with the license plate CWBNGA, and a ninja turtle’s head for a shift knob...then we had kids and I sold the Jeep. It truly was a shell of a good time!

A little too early for a trailer, but we'll probably get a teaser around May or early June.

I’m getting hyped now, also if they would’ve added Trent Reznor to help compose it too would’ve been interesting, loved his work on Social Network and Gone Girl, but then again Carpenter is also perfect so you can’t beat that

My long shot dream is that while Carapenter is scoring this it somehow renews his interest in film and he decides to come back and direct the 3 part in the escape films with Kurt Russel coming back as an older snake.

This may sound weird but this is my most anticipated film of the year

This film is being handled oddly brilliantly

You got Carpenter returning to Halloween which he hasn’t been involved in since third film

Then you got Danny McBride co-writing the script

You got David Gordon Green directing it who’s a great director

You got Blumhouse producing

This amount of talent shouldn’t be on a dead film franchise. You could easily make a cheap Halloween film but these guys are putting in the work to make sure this film is great. It’s kind of fascinating to see talented people who care about a franchise who on a dead franchise that many would’ve just mad a cheap low budget film because people would see it
