I enjoyed seeing this last Halloween in theaters when I had a free day. It was a good brisk slasher romp.

Carpenter seems to be open to a lot of sequels but never wants to be the one to helm them.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - JC's films didn't tend to do well at the BO. He got real tired of the Hollywood system, and as mentioned above, just wants to make crunchy grooves and play video games

The Fog is a very bare bones film that is elevated by Carpenters directing and the atmosphere he brought to it, so I would look forward to a sequel if he was involved in it like the new Halloween films. After the Lighthouse I would really like to start seeing more seaside horor films. Give me some mermaids, ghost pirates, and sea creatures.

The Fog was kinda like a ghost story you tell to around campfire. I don't really see where you would take a sequel without just redoing the first movie again.

Ignore Escape From LA and do a direct sequel to Escape From New York

How about a Thing sequel, the scifi channel had a cool idea for one that got cancelled because of budget

@MaxPaint - The first movie was fantastic. Hardly "bottom of the barrel"

We need a good Fog sequel.

“There ain’t no fog bank out there! Hey...there’s a fog bank out there.”

“Ahoy, Maties. It’s Stevie Wayne. You’re night life.”

THE FOG is one of my favorite Halloween Season films.

And when Old Man Plissken? Washington D.C. may be the new crime capital and a psychopath sitting in the oval office is the one who rules the city.

The Fog worked in part because it was a good old style ghost story. You could imagine someone telling the story around a fire. Carpenter added his storytelling style and enhanced it.
