IT Director Andy Muschietti Would Love To See Jessica Chastain Play The Older Version Of Bev In The Sequel

With a sequel to IT now pretty much guaranteed, director Andy Muschietti will have to begin thinking about casting the older versions of The Losers' Club, and he has Jessica Chastain in mind for Beverley.

IT has taken in over $120 million domestically since it opened on Friday, virtually guaranteeing that we'll see Part 2 at some point.

Director director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti will soon have to begin thinking about casting the older incarnations of the main characters, and Andy has someone in mind for Bev that's sure to be a hit with fans.

Jessica Chastain previoulsy worked with Mushietti on Mama and the two have remained friends, so Variety asked the filmmaker if he'd consider her for the role during their interview.

"Jessi is an amazing actress and very good friend and I would love her to play Beverly. She loves the movie and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen. There are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast that I’m playing with, but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now."

That actually sounds like he may have broached the subject with Chastain already, but it'll obviously be a while before we begin to hear anything in the way of official casting news for the sequel.
