OVERLORD: J.J. Abrams' Sci-Fi Supernatural Horror Is Unveiled In This Bats**t Crazy Official Trailer

With Tom Cruise's highly-anticipated Mission: Impossible - Fallout due in theaters next week, Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for the J.J. Abrams-produced WWII horror, Overlord.

During CinemaCon earlier this year, producer J.J. Abrams introduced the first look at his upcoming sci-fi supernatural horror Overlord by describing it as "bats**t crazy" and once the footage got rolling, it didn't take long for us in the audience to realize exactly what he meant as we were treated to easily the most disturbing sneak peek of the week.

As Paramount prepares to launch Tom Cruise's critically-acclaimed Mission: Impossible - Fallout next week, they've gone ahead and shared the first teaser trailer for Overlord, offering just a brief tease of what's to come in this World War II-set thriller, which stars Jovan Adepo (Fences), Wyatt Russell (Black Mirror), Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones), John Magaro (The Big Short), Mathilde Ollivier (Boss Level), Iain De Caestecker (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Bokeem Woodbine (Spider-Man: Homecoming), amongst others.

Julius Avery (Son of a Gun) helmed the feature with a screenplay from Billy Ray (Captain Phillips) and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant). Abrams served as a producer alongside Lindsey Weber (Star Trek Beyond).

@Menks123 - It looks like one of those made for Sc-Fi movies where you go "This is an awesome idea, if only they had a real budget to make this look better," but with the real budget to make it actually look better.

I really hope this isn't relate to Cloverfield. Cloverfield Paradox was so unnecessary. I'm not sure this retroactive approach to shoehorning a universe together is the best approach.
