Paramount Home Media Distribution has revealed the release dates and special features for the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD debut of Pet Sematary, which will include an alternate ending.

Following a stellar $111.58M worldwide haul ($54.5M domestic; $57M foreign) on a $21 million production budget, Paramount Home Media Distribution has officially announced that Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer's Pet Sematary reboot will arrive on Digital HD on June 25th and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on July 9th. 

The horror hit, which starred Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, Jeté Laurence, Hugo & Lucas Lavoie and John Lithgow, will contain plenty of exclusive footage that wasn't shown in theaters, including tons of deleted and extended scenes as well as a terrifying alternate ending.

The Digital*, 4K Ultra HD, and Blu-ray releases are packed with over 90 minutes of special features, including hair-raising deleted and extended scenes, a chilling alternate ending, a look at the main characters, behind-the-scenes footage, cast interviews and more. Synopsis
After the Creed family relocates from Boston to rural Maine, they soon discover an ancient burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, the grief-stricken father is driven by the cemetery’s sinister power, setting off a perilous chain of events that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences. Some secrets are best left buried in this twisted thriller.

This version of Pet Sematary was better than the first one...but oddly the first one had more iconic moments. Glad I saw it, but can't say this will be an enduring classic.

Is this movie worth a viewing? I didn't hear anything good about it except from critics. And I hold the original in such high regard. I've seen some good King films this decade, but none were very scary.
