Don't Worry, Not Even The Director Of Marvel's INHUMANS Liked The Trailer

More bad news for Inhumans as the director of the first two episodes of the upcoming Marvel/IMAX series has admitted that not even he was a fan of the incredibly divisive and widely panned first trailer.

Screengrabs from the first Inhumans trailer leaked online before it was released and while many hopeful fans urged those who weren't quite so positive to wait and see, the finished product failed to impress. Since then, the backlash to the show has not died down and even the second, much better trailer was bombarded with negative headlines due to the appalling special effects and acting.

Well, if you were among those who hated that first look at Inhumans, then fear not as you're in good company! During a recent chat with Metro, director Roel Reine admitted that he wasn't actually surprised by the backlash because he also thought the first trailer was poor and released too soon.

"I was mixed about the first trailer as well. I felt like it didn’t give you the scope, it didn’t give you a lot of secrets or visual effects. I felt it was a little bit too early because the visual effects were not ready – Medusa’s hair was not ready. So I was really nervous about it and would think the fans would not really like it. When I watched the first trailer I was like ‘ooosh’. But me as a filmmaker, as a director, you’re not involved with the marketing part of these things. The trailer was made by other people, so I was really nervous about it when I saw it. So I was like, “oh guys maybe we should hold off,” but it was too late because it was already in the open."

Reine went on to say that he much preferred the second trailer and was pleased to see that it won many fans around. The fact that everyone from the director to producers and stars are now having to go on the defensive like this is not good and doesn't seem to bode particularly well for the series.

We'll just have to wait and see if Inhumans is a hit both on the big and small screens but how do you guys feel about the show right now? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.
