Iron Man 2 hit theaters in 2010 and while it was followed by THOR and Captain America: The First Avenger, the movie's main focus was to set up The Avengers. As a result, it drew the ire of many fans as it was a very busy movie which attempted to juggle a lot of balls. It dropped some too, particularly on the "Demon in the Bottle" arc but successfully introduced both War Machine and Black Widow.

Now, we're taking a look at some concept art from the jam-packed sequel which puts the spotlight on both of those heroes and how differently they could have looked. The designs for War Machine's armour are very interesting (and comic book faithful), while director Jon Favreau clearly considered going even further with Black Widow's S.H.I.E.L.D. connections by making her a full-on Agent.
