I like the Warlord title. Too bad the movie was horrible. Kitsch did a decent job.

The movie wasn't that bad the story was just a bit messy and the placement for it at the box office made certain it was set to fail

Haven't seen it, but give this guy PLANET HULK, I think he'd do a fine job.

I kinda liked it, but nothing too special for me...actually got a little bored at times, and it's my favorite genre movies, so kinda bummed...would have given the sequel a chance...

Could have been a bit tighter but I thought it was very enjoyable. The ending was indeed very well done.

Good movie, better than many adventure movies out there.

The movie wasn't bad. Critics jumped on it for some reason and everyone went along with it. The film got destroyed because it depicted metaphorically what the truth is; that the is an advanced alien race that lives among us that can fit in perfectly and steers us away from things like zero point energy.

Wasn't interest in what I saw from the promotional material but rented it and have to say that I liked it a lot. I would love to see a sequel, too bad we're probably not getting one.
@BlackSpider Not any worse than most titles fans want for the movies. World's Finest, that title sucks and I enjoyed the comics.

Love the books, loved the movie. Shame it didn't do enough to warrant a sequel.

@BlackSpider Those are the titles of the second and third books in the series.

I liked it. So did the people I know who saw it. Bad marketing hurt it, though.

It wasnt that bad of a film at all. I loved the ending and the score was beautiful! Someone post it please!

The first one reeeally should heve kept the "of Mars" in the title. Just all around horrible marketing. JC was far from a perfect movie, but I liked it quite a lot and would've loved to see it become a trilogy! :'(

I just don't understand why so many people watch one bad Transformers movie after the other and something like this flops...

The marketing for john carter was horrendous. I regret not seeing it until HBO, but really enjoyed it for sure. Had to buy the bluray.

knowing star wars and superman were inspired by this makes me sad, it was really poorly marketed

I really wanted to like it, but Kitsch is so unlikable... he needs to be a bad guy...

I still stand by this movie. It's pulpy sci-fi of the sort we rarely see on the big screen anymore. Three stars out of four.

Movie 2, if it followed the storyline of Book 2, would have blown people's minds like Neo waking from the Matrix did. Too bad we'll never see it.

(I don't get why it cost so much -- they could have shaved $100M off the budget for the same result.)

I felt like they should have made an entire movie out of the flashbacks in the movie. The flashbacks semmed to tell a way better story than the actual movie.

It seriously sucked, except for the flashbacks.

I was always kinda iffy on kitsch but felt he really carried this one.

I remember having to explain to my brothers in law how he could jump like that and they had no idea it took place on Mars at all from the trailers. They got totally intrigued from what I told them about the book and went to see it and loved it too.

Also, I read an interview with kitsch a few weeks ago about how good the script for the sequel was, so apparently they have it written. Really too bad.

I unabashedly love John Carter. One of the best theatrical experiences I've had in the past few years, and it makes me very sad that the franchise died on the table, essentially. It certainly wasn't the fault of any of the actors, writers, director or visual effects artists. Just bad marketing for a story that was admittedly a long shot to be the next blockbuster.
