D.J. Cotrona Dishes Details On His Superman Suit For Cancelled JUSTICE LEAGUE: MORTAL

D.J. Cotrona (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) talks more about not starring as Superman in WB's canned Justice League: Mortal, revealing new details for the "god-like" suit that he was going to wear and that his relationship with Batman in the ensemble was "the one I always wanted to see."

We previously heard comments from D.J. Cotrona's regrets about not moving on to don the Superman suit for Warner Bros.' now defunct Justice League: Mortal, and during an interview with Cinema Blend, the G.I. Joe: Retaliation actor talks more about the DC Comics ensemble. He's asked about the costume that he was going to wear, and he offers nothing but praise for the suit. He says that his Superman would've been a full-on alien god in the movie, and the suit set off that tone. He also says that Supes' relationship with Batman (who would've been played by Armie Hammer) in Mortal was one that he always wanted to see. The rest of the film's cast included Common as Green Lantern, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Adam Brody as The Flash, Hugh Keays-Byrne Martian Manhunter, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Teresa Palmer as Talia al Ghul and Jay Baruchel as Maxwell Lord. "The version of Superman that we were going to build was incredible. We were very much leaning towards alien, you know, not like down and out Clark Kent, but a fully realized alien, alien god. This guy was always flying and the design of the suit was, there was very, very cool subtle details that were really cool, but tonally it was like a god, like the ultimate powerful god and the relationship between Batman and Superman that we were going to make in this movie was the one that I always wanted to see. Still do, still do, man. It’s a damn shame we didn’t get to finish that one. Hopefully it will work out and Warners will be able to put it out eventually."

A separate incarnation of a Justice League movie is in development at Warner Bros., with Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder reportedly on board as producers. Henry Cavill, who plays Superman in June 14th's Man Of Steel, will likely reprise the role for the superhero ensemble if the reboot is a big hit. Christian Bale has also been rumored to be reprising his role as Batman in the film. Would you have liked to see Justice League: Mortal make it into theaters?
