Gal Gadot Shares Her Thoughts On The Critical Response To JUSTICE LEAGUE And Wonder Woman's Future

Wonder Woman was a hit but Justice League failed to succeed both critically and at the box office. Now, Gal Gadot has been asked about both that and how long she plans on sticking around as Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman 2 is set to be released next year and that means we're going to start hearing a lot more about the sequel in the near future. Last year was an interesting 365 days for both Gal Gadot and the character, though, with Wonder Woman a definite high and Justice League something of a low for them both. So, how did the actress feel to see the superhero ensemble met with a negative response?

Well, Entertainment Weekly asked her just that and Gadot gave a very measured response about her feelings on the divisive DC Comics adaptation and was quick to move the focus to Wonder Woman 2!

"When I started to shoot Justice League it was literally the day after I wrapped on Wonder Woman. So it was the same, but different, and it was really nice to share the stage with an ensemble cast, and work with some of the guys again. It was a lot of fun. Obviously it wasn’t  about Wonder Woman; she was supporting the bigger story. I’m very excited to start working on Wonder Woman 2."

Asked about how Diana Prince will evolve in the sequel, the actress remained frustratingly vague. "Other than the wonderful work Lynda Carter did in the TV show this character was never really told on the big screen. We just see her origin story. But there’s so much to explore with this character who has 75 years of legacy, there’s so much material and so many ways and I’m psyched about it."

As for how much longer she'll play Wonder Woman, it appears as if the mixed response to Justice League has done nothing to dampen her enthusiasm. "I think that once I’m there, once I feel it’s time to move on, then I’ll know," she says. "Right now I don’t know." What do you hope to see come next?
