JUSTICE LEAGUE Artist Suggests Zack Snyder's Original Five-Movie Arc Would Have Been Something Special JUSTICE LEAGUE Artist Suggests Zack Snyder's Original Five-Movie Arc Would Have Been Something Special

We recently found out that Man of Steel was originally envisioned as the first part of a five-movie arc for director Zack Snyder, & storyboard artist Jay Oliva reckons it would have been "unforgettable."

Zack Snyder fans continue to clamor for the "Snyder Cut" of Justice League, and while there is a (slim) chance that could see the light of day at some point, we will almost certainly never find out what the divisive director's vision for an epic five-movie DCEU arc would have been.

Starting with Man of Steel and continuing with Batman v Superman, Justice League, a direct JL sequel and then a mysterious final installment to wrap everything up; Snyder's plans were halted when he was replaced by Joss Whedon as Justice League's director, and it doesn't seem likely that he'll be returning to WB's DC Films Universe anytime soon.

Of course, there are many that think this is for the best, but the Snyder faithful would have been in for a treat if he had managed to complete his overarching story - at least according to artist Jay Oliva.

Oliva worked with Snyder on all three of the DC movies he did helm, and parted ways with the studio around the same time. You may assume his opinion is somewhat biased, but there's no arguing with the fact that a lot of DC fans would have been very curious to see where Snyder would have taken the franchise.

Tell us, what do you think of Oliva's Tweet? Would you have liked to see Snyder stay on, are are you glad the DCEU is heading in a new direction? Sound off below.

@BillyBatson1000 - It's almost like Snyder has this cult of artists, writers, journalists, and fanboys who are following his command of constantly reminding the general populace that Zack Snyder would have made a fantastic DCEU.

Despite how well received Wonder Woman was and how rotten the three Snyder films were his cult still believes he was the reason for the DCEU being the make believe masterpiece it isn't.

At some point fanboys need to accept that A.) His departure was a financial decision. And B.) The general audience doesnt like what the DCEU is at the moment.

@SonOfAGif - it's pretty much official that he has a cult. You should see WBs Twitter posts, they're filled with #ReleaseTheSnyderCut comments even today. It's weird how crazy these people are.

@SonOfAGif - Sadly true. I'd even bet part of that cult has financial backing until WBros completes their plans for Aquaman/Wonder Woman. Both potentially 'tainted' by association.

@BillyBatson1000 -

the thing with '5 story arc' is that you have to invest time and character development to make a decent movie.
- MoS wasn't that great but it had its moments
- BvS was a mess, how am I supposed to get excited about upcoming movies when this wasn't interesting at all, in the end got ridiculed by the never dying 'martha' meme & references ??
- JL was sooooo forgettable I can't even be bothered to think about it.

hack snyder had his chance,
3 to be exact
reboot the whole thing or forget about a DCU
and make single movies that are not connected.
that worked for tdk

@zeonsdemon - When you know what it's about, and if you watch the Extended Cut of his film, it's yet another one of his films that gets FAR too much more hate than it deserves.

@MrMe - crazy is how fast people turned against joss whedon. they praised him like a king after avengers.

@Equivocal - Agreed. You need corporate loyalty and strategy too and that had flushed away by JLA. Stand alone single movies work for me. Perhaps with verbal/visual nods to other DC characters. The characters are there. There are decades of great story-runs to draw from. It just takes ... vision.

@SonOfAGif - What I like is how fanboys change the narrative with each piece of info released. Now they'll admit that BvS wasn't that good because he needed to tell 3 more stories to complete what he started and wasn't given the chance. If this new didn't ever see the light of day they'd stick with the idea that BvS was just "misunderstood" though. It's contradictory.

@BullyFU - You think we know us, but you don't. By the end of Batman v Superman, he's learned all the lessons he needs, to be the beacon of hope, brimming with joy and optimism and fighting for Truth, Justice and the American Way. Justice League is reflecting on what he's learned and putting it into practice, as he celebrates his second chance at life. His origin arc is complete with Justice League. What followed is, more than likely, a Superman standalone to commemorate his 80th Anniversary (Zack Snyder directed the Superman 75th Anniversary video) and Justice League Part II, which started something else for someone else to take over. They weren't necessarily needed, but I think they would have made for a better story than what Warner Bros. tried to give us.

@SisterSunday52 - Justice League is better than Batman versus Superman and that's not saying much because that movie was trash

I'm by no means a Snyder fanboy, but I thought MOS was great and found BVS interesting enough to want to see more. I certainly believe his Justice League would have been better than Whedon's.
