Yeah, this didn't go down so well. For some unfathomable reason, Warner Bros. has released a new 4K trailer for the 2017 theatrical cut of Joss Whedon's Justice League.

In a move that's been described as tone-deaf (to say the least) by many, Warner Bros. has released a new 4K trailer for Justice League. Not the much better-received "Snyder Cut" of the movie that's currently streaming on HBO Max, but the original, 2017 version directed by Joss Whedon.

Given everything that came to light about Whedon before and since the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, you would think Warner Bros. would want to at least attempt to distance themselves from the theatrical cut of the movie as much as possible, but here we are.

To make matters worse, the trailer actually includes some shots from Snyder's version of the film. Most notably, Superman's jaw isn't trying its best to float away from his damn face here!

Check out the trailer below along with some of the reactions from the Twittersphere.

*WB remasters something they own*

How dare they, this is the most tone deaf, senseless, evil thing WB has ever done!

@DalekCraigWasson - I mean, something that's 4 years old and directed by an accused abuser. Not to mention the Snyder cut is generally viewed as the better film.

@Origame - Except:

1. The Snyder Cut is already in 4K.

2. WB released a brand new Trilogy trailer that showcased MoS, BvS, and ZSJL about a month ago.

They are literally doing this with everything but people act like this is some specific slight to Snyder.

@Origame -

Here's the Godzilla one they did a month ago.

@DalekCraigWasson - 1) doesn't mean you bother with the other one.

2) never said they didn't. But you can use your resources to promote the clearly more popular one, or allocate the money to other projects like all these other upcoming movies to the platform.

@DalekCraigWasson - and godzilla isn't an unpopular movie directed by an accused abuser. Nor is there a more popular version of the film in existence. What's your point.

@DalekCraigWasson - 2017 is still the canon version. ZS JL doesn't count. You can tell no one cares when more people saw Whedon's version in theaters vs Snyders Cut on HBO Max.

Flashpoint will reboot all this anyway.

@Origame - I think that trailer is pretty great. You can’t say JLSC is all that popular when it didn’t do all that great on HBO max. I agree it’s a superior film, but Snyder also had a few extra years, nearly twice the reshoot budget, HBO max not breathing down his throat, and finally he could see what everyone didn’t like about the theatrical version and edit his cut around that. To say majority of fans liked a cut of ZS movie better then another cut of the same movie is asinine.

@Origame - Remember that WB is not a hardcore deluded fan like the snyder cult. In the end, its a business. Its a product they have, they will promote it. Why? Cuz its shorter, lighter and aimed at the general audience. Was directed by an abuser racist POS? ITS A BUSINESS. THEY DONT CARE.

@Origame - it's the canon version though?

@whynot - 1) it was the third biggest film on HBO max only behind ww1986 and gvk. It may not be as good, but still doing pretty well for a different cut of an already released movie (that flopped mind you).

2) this second part is just semantics. Yes, he had more opportunities to make a better film, but in the end of the day one is simply better than another. And honestly the only points I've ever seen against the Snyder cut in terms of which is the better movie is stuff like how superman feels more like comics superman or just generally not liking the dark direction in the first place. Other than that it's basically all positive in favor of the Snyder cut.

@Blergh - I mean, until all this gets rebooted by Flashpoint anyway. They're clearly moving from Canon properties.

@Elbarto63 - and it's bad business. People are seeing right through it.
