Kevin Feige's Advice On A Live-Action JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie

With the massive success of The Avengers under his belt, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked what advice he would give to Warner Bros. on their planned adaptation of DC Comics' Justice League.

By all accounts, a Justice League film depends on the success of Man of Steel. Based on what's been revealed from the film thus far that looks to be all but guaranteed, fan excitement is high and the buzz is quickly approaching a deafening level. When interviewed by Collider, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was asked what advice he would give to Warner Bros. regarding their Justice League plans. Said Feige----

"I don’t know. I’m sure they have smart people over there who have a plan and know what they’re doing. Man of Steel looks like it’s going to be awesome and obviously Dark Knight is awesome. I don’t know. It’s what I say all the time and have said over the years, which is, have confidence in the characters, believe in the source material, don’t be afraid to stay true to all of the elements of the characters no matter how seemingly silly or crazy they are. I don’t know, I think the Marvel characters have a bit of a leg up for all the reasons that Marvel fans are aware of in terms of the emotional complexity of the characters and the flawed nature of the characters. Those are obviously the elements we want to accentuate amongst all the action."

"I think there have been a lot of great DC stories and there are a lot of great DC characters, and if they focus on those things the audience will be interested. It was a very unique model that we were lucky enough to be able to do – introducing each individual hero before introducing The Avengers. That, to me, is what was always interesting about The Avengers. The Avengers are not The Guardians of the Galaxy, are not The Dirty Dozen, where you spend a movie introducing each character and putting them together for the first time. The Avengers was cool because they were preexisting characters that teamed up for a big event. I think that’s why Justice League was cool, Justice League was first. That’s what they did first in comic form."

Finishing off how we began, if Man of Steel is a box office hit Zack Snyder will be asked to direct a Justice League film. No definitive word on who will pen the script but scuttlebutt says the draft Will Beall penned back in 2012 is out and David S. Goyer will cook up something new. There's also a plethora of rumors concerning Man of Steel cameos and easter eggs roaming across the interweb that have congealed to form a blazing neon sign that points to an official announcement for a Justice League film coming sooner rather than later. Should WB look to the words of Feige above or should they try something different? While Feige kept his response pretty vague, we know for certain that everything for Marvel starts with their yearly retreats by Feige and a few producers and writers where they basically rent a house and bounce ideas of each other for a week or two. Should WB try to do something similar and create their own inner circle? Who should be inside it - Snyder, Goyer, Nolan, Timm? Sound off in the usual spot below.
