@GilGalad - They said they were going to use a whole new system for underwater footage and represent the underwater world.

Aquaman is screaming for a R-rated movie. DO IT DC, DO IT. JUST DO IT. Listen to Shia, and DO IT

@duncboy - I dont think Aquaman should or needs to be R rated. According to how Wan describes it as a swashbuckling adventure reminiscent of Romancing The Stone (a PG movie), I think PG-13 is just fine.

I dont think its screaming for one at all, but that's just my opinion.

@duncboy - Yeah no. None of the JL members need R-rated movies.
Suicide Squad characters are the only ones that it could possibly benefit.

@Elayem - The Suicide Squad, Lobo, Dark Universe and... uhm, Wild Dog?

Yeah, R ratings aren't need for a lot of what DC has on their slate.

@BillMurray - I feel like Lobo won't ever get a movie. I don't really understand why anyone ever thought a movie should be made about him. He's a cheesy, dated, C-list superman villain. He's only had his own solo comic series a couple times and I don't think any of them ran more than like 15 issues before being cancelled.

But yeah Dark Universe could also work as an R-rated flick. Would probably keep the budget down too which I think WB should do for all non JL-member movies.

@Elayem - @Elayem - Don't get me wrong, I don't want a Lobo movie. But DC does seem to be pushing for it, and an R rating is the only way it'd (kind of) work.

I'd like to see Lobo show up as a secondary baddie in a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie (which I'm currently working on), as a hired mercenary working for a loose adaption of the Dirk Davis character.

Since Davis' interests as a public relations expert are always financial, maybe he sends Lobo out to kill the time-traveling Booster, following them back to different periods of time in an attempt to do so. Davis' plan can be that since celebrities make a lot of buzz after death, he plans to use Booster's demise for merchandising profit. I dunno.

@BillMurray - Yeah I agree, IF they make a Lobo movie, which they probably shouldn't, it'd be better off R-rated.

Interesting idea, have Booster Gold and Lobo ever crossed paths in the comics?
With characters as wacky and outlandish as Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, and Lobo, I imagine that movie would probably have to be highly comedic and tongue in cheek, ala Deadpool and GOTG?

@Elayem - Yeah, but just a tad more reserved. My dream is to have Shane Black helm this one. Not because "comedy", but because he balances mocking tropes and embracing them in a way that works, as opposed to Deadpool, which often crosses into that "generic superhero origin story" territory.

Not to say Deadpool is bad. Quite the contrary. But Black's work has a more mature quality to its satire the GOTG and Deadpool lack. His work on The Nice Guys and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (two of my all-time favorites) are what really sealed the deal for me.

And no, not to my knowledge. Still, it can make for an interesting dynamic, and an unexpected showcase for the Lobo character.
