Maybe the director should get the greenlight from the studio before casting/shooting parts?

@RageDriver2401 - Why would a studio that's made a name by tarnishing any opportunities for success they're given, have any need to "approve" castings for characters that'll never show up again anyways? What value is there in the studio executives who generally lack all semblance of artistic vision or nuance have in determining the best way to tell the story the director has crafted?

@BatCiggy - are we talking about the same studio that backed Batman Begins in an age where Raimi was setting the benchmark for Superhero cinema? Or the one that let the director of the Hangover trilogy make a movie like Joker? Or the one that gave Snyder 3 shots at making a half decent superhero flick?

The studios aren't always right but when a studio's 3 biggest failures are all directed by ONE director, the problem lies with the latter.

@BatCiggy - because said director has a track record of flopping and [frick]ing things up. And "tarnishing any opportunities for success". Now that's some serious delusions. You snyder cultists sound more ridiculous everytime you open your mouths. Literally one of the biggest studios in history with some of the most successful franchises around.if sure, cos daddy snyder made crap movies it must be WBs fault, right?

@RageDriver2401 - Let's be real though, if I were directing a Justice League movie I'd think it was a pretty safe assumption that I was allowed to use Justice League characters.....this isn't even Snyder's fault this time

@RageDriver2401 - if I remember, Joker almost didn't get made cause Hamada didn't see any reason to make that movie. Hence them splitting the distributions with another studio. Not to forget they didn't give a larger budget for it and thinking Birds of Prey was going to make more money than Joker.
WB has made some good movies in the past, but they are not the studio they once were.

@Nightwing1015 - I mean, he used the 6 main characters, he used ryan choi, he used darkseid and all the characters associated with him, he used martian manhunter, joker, deathstroke, even kilowog in a blink-and-you-miss-it scene, but everyone is angry about the one character he couldn't use, I really don't get it.

See, this is how adults react to having their role cut, Ray.

@Origame - No, no, no, this man is going about it all wrong. He needs to whine on social media and demand apologies from those who had nothing to do with the situation.

Right?

@Whaley87 - you know what? You're right. Robert Downey Jr should apologize.

Seems like a class act. As negative as the Snyder fanbase is, it's nice that hes getting love from people. Not that it's inherently deserved because he didn't really do anything, but still. It's nice to see some positivity

How can a movie this bad get so much press on one site?

Seriously Zack??? This was really irresponsible on his part. You can't play with people's careers like that. Why not just ask the studio first? And if they say yes, THEN cast the John Stewart role, and film the scene?

The fact he even agreed to the gig without studio approval is insane! I mean, he likely got paid anyway, but it seems like a dumb move. Snyder is also a giant a-hole for even trying this stunt and getting Carr's hopes up for being GL when he damn well knew it was a long shot & not likely to get approved.
