@TheUnworthyThor - there is no campaign. Nowhere did he call them invaders. And the only reason he's "doubling down" is because we keep asking him questions in these interviews. And arent you the guy who said "don't like then don't watch"?

@Origame -Actually he did call them invaders "We shouldn't be invaded by them". By him saying "It is a big issue and we need theatre owners to step up".. this doesn't sound to you like him actively trying to stop these films being shown? He is saying this to the public, lord knows what he's done behind the scenes, he has friends in high places and is one of the most highly regarded and respected directors of all time so him even just talking in that way is a big thing and a little "campain-ish" yh he's been asked loads of times now but only because of what he said before, he came out with this on his own, obviously it was gonna be a big thing and everyone is going to ask him to clarify or add to it, he can easily say "i've already spoken about that I don't need to keep talking about it" but no he clearly has a big issue with it which is why he continues saying these things. i love Scorsese by the way, probably my favourite director but man he is talking nonsense, in my opinion anyway I don't agree at all with anything he has said. I don't even care if he doesn't like them, it's the 'get them out of cinemas' talk that irritates me.

@Origame - Uh when a politician campaigns for a fellow politician they just go around and talk about that candidate. When a celebrity goes around talking about global warming they are campaigning for political action to be taken. They don’t need to be planting trees to be campaigning for something.

@Origame - And if his intention wasn’t to change the way theaters conduct their business then he would simply answer something to the affect of “I’ve already addressed that, made my opinion known, next question” or do the common Hollywood thing of questions on these subjects are off limited. But instead he keeps not only repeating his opinion and going further.
