New Disneyland Rumor Reveals What Might Be In Store For MARVEL LAND At Disney's California Adventure

New rumors regarding the Marvel land that is coming to Disney's California Adventure have surfaced that give some insight into what park goers can expect from the superhero Campus set to open in 2020...

Back in 2009 when Disney made the deal to acquire Marvel Studios, fans were excited about the new growing possibilities for the film slate, but also what this would mean for the Disney Parks. There was a palpable sense of jubilation that you might get to rub elbows with Captain America or Iron Man while you are visiting "The Happiest Place On Earth."

Disney Parks made the announcement that they would be closing the "It's Tough To Be A Bug" attraction, which officially closed March 18 of this year, to make way for a new Marvel themed land. This exciting bit of news has been curbed by lack of details as to just what people might see in the new renovated section of Disney's California Adventure.

Disney Tourist Blog may have the answer, as the site says they have a well informed source who has tipped them off on what expect from the land when it opens. The blog describes the new Marvel Land as a campus set in real world Southern California, and will be a place where, "Marvel super heroes can share their technology and methods of helping the world with the public."

Marvel Land will boast two attractions with the first being a interactive 3D family-friendly ride that will be an expansion of the theater from "It's Tough To Be A Bug." While there was no information from their source on the second attraction, they speculate that it could be more of a thrill ride to contrast with the family friendly 3D ride. One rumor has it that the attraction might be a cycle coaster similar to the Tron Light Cycle coaster at Shanghai Disneyland and the one coming to Disney World.

In addition to the attractions, Marvel Land will reportedly focus on entertainment value with plenty of character meet and greets that will take place in the central quad of the campus, and the two level performance center located in one of the two gift shops.

In terms of dinging, the campus will showcase a microbrewery that will count as a counter-service restaurant, for all you Disney Dining Plan fanatics, and will also serve as a buffer between Marvel Land and the Guardians Of The Galaxy: Mission Breakout attraction.

Due to legal fine-print with Universal Studios, Disney will not be able to refer to the new interactive superhero campus as Marvel Land. Keep in mind that these are all rumors to take with a grain of salt until Disney Parks confirms them. Right now, the Marvel-centric land is scheduled to open at Disney's California Adventure in 2020.
