The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Avengers: Infinity War and Thor: Ragnarok star Chris Hemsworth is currently in early talks with Sony Pictures to join their upcoming Men in Black spinoff.

Plot details remain under wraps, but the film, which is being described as a global adventure, will reportedly feature a diverse ensemble that will likely consist of a white male, a female of color, and an older man. Former franchise stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are not expected to return in any capacity as the franchise introduces new characters and explores new intergalactic adventures.

F. Gary Gray (Fate of the Furious) is set to direct with a script from the Iron Man screenwriting duo of Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald will produce while Steven Spielberg will return as an executive producer.

Filming is expected to begin this summer, presumably after Hemsworth wraps Drew Goddard's Bad Times at the El Royale.

The reboot is set to hit theaters on June 14, 2019.
