MORBIUS: THE LIVING VAMPIRE Will Start Shooting Sooner Than Expected But Don't Expect An R-Rating

Venom producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach have confirmed when cameras start rolling on Morbius: The Living Vampire but, as with the first live-action Spider-Verse movie, and R-Rating is off the table.

Venom had a solid opening weekend which exceeded expectations and while it's still too soon to say whether or not it has the legs to be considered a true success, Sony Pictures is no doubt feeling very happy with how it's performed so far. Now, work continues on a number of other live-action Spider-Verse spinoffs with the next being Morbius: The Living Vampire starring Suicide Squad's Jared Leto.

During a recent interview with Collider, producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach were asked what the status of that project currently is and Arad said that the current plan is to have cameras rolling by as soon as next February, with Tolmach adding: "Yeah, the plan is
early part of next year. We’re still working on it." So, like it or not, the movie is going to happen and we should hear casting news soon.

Despite the character's horror background, it sounds like we can forget about Morbius: The Living Vampire boasting an R-Rating as Arad was quick to point out the following. "[At] least for me, I have grandkids, kids, whatever, all these things, and some of these movies, they’re dying to see. You know? As I took my grandson, seven, to the recording session of Venom. He had the time of his life."
