The Lead Villains In Ava DuVernay's THE NEW GODS May Have Been Revealed
There are a lot of rumours surrounding The New Gods and now a new report claims to shed some light on both the lead heroes and villains in Ava DuVernay's DC Comics adaptation. Hit the jump for details...
Take this with a pinch of salt, but a new report claims that Granny Goodness and the Female Furies will be the lead villains in The New Gods. For those of you unfamiliar with the characters, they report to Apokolips leader Darkseid and the Furies were originally led by Big Barda before she fled the group to embark on a romantic relationship with Mr. Miracle, Darkseid's adopted son.
Unsurprisingly, Mr. Miracle and Big Barda are rumoured to be the movie's protagonists.
It would certainly make sense for director Ava DuVernay to focus on a relatively small group of characters because the world of The New Gods is massive and it would be a shame to see things become too crowded. Fans will, of course, be hoping to see some high profile cameos in this movie.
It's hard to imagine Darkseid not making an appearance and it will be interesting to find out if the events of Justice League's and Steppenwolf's failure to acquire the Mother Boxes is referenced in any way. Warner Bros. may want to make standalone movies but ignoring that would be a waste.
