Following his enormous success with his MCU debut Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi has found new ground to break. With his next project, a World War II satire titled Jojo Rabbit, he aims to makes audiences laugh and cry, with the additional intent of “pissing off racists.”

Waititi has strung up a talented ensemble for his latest flick, with Scarlett Johansson playing the female lead in his forthcoming endeavor. The cast also includes Pitch Perfect's Rebel Wilson and Iron Man 2's Sam Rockwell. The titular character, Jojo, will be portrayed by newcomer Roman Griffin Davis.

Though it will be fun to see Korg interacting with Black Widow, many are still on the fence on whether Waititi can pull it off, let alone justify its existence. Knowing his creative and unique sensibilities showcased from his previous projects, there is no way Waititi can do any wrong. Gathering everything that has been released so far, this movie both sounds and looks like another home run.

Taika Waititi is such a weird oddball but his last three have been fantastic so I'm on board for this.

Well, making fun of Hitler will definitely piss off a certain narrow set of racists.

But there are a lot of racists who aren't exactly Hitler fans themselves, either. Sort of like how you can find people who love basketball, and yet have no real attachment to Michael Jordan.

...So yeah, I mean... Michael Jordan is the Hitler of basketball, I guess? Or wait, the other way around. Hitler is the Michael Jordan of racism. ([frick]ing MJ really screwed me up with that mustache, I swear.)

I feel like Taika Waiti and Jeff Goldblum are the most weird yet entertaining people to watch. I love it!!!

In other hands I would be skeptical, but at the same time I don’t think anyone else would make this movie. So I’m just excited

Apparently the screenplay is based off a critically acclaimed psychological drama novel? Yep, Taika is the only person who would take that in this direction

Honestly, Taika is such a gem. Great personality and a talented director. I really really hope he makes another MCU film because Ragnarok is in my Top 3
