With the United States celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 today, Walt Disney Studios and 20th Century Fox have released a new featurette/extended TV spot for James Gray's upcoming sci-fi space mystery, Ad Astra, featuring even more never-before-seen footage as Academy Award-winner Brad Pitt (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) attempts to go further than any man has gone before. 

While plot details have mostly been kept under wraps, the film will follow Roy McBride (Brad Pitt), an astronaut who traverses the solar system in a bid to find his long lost father, while simultaneously uncovering the shocking truth behind the failure of his dad's initial mission, which may or may not have involved searching for extraterrestrial life. 

In addition to Pitt, the cast features Tommy Lee Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), Ruth Negga (Preacher), Liv Tyler (The Incredible Hulk), Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games), Jamie Kennedy (Scream), John Finn (The Walking Dead), Kimberly Elise (Death Wish), Bobby Nish (ER), LisaGay Hamilton (Vice), and John Ortiz (Bumblebee).

Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.
