In honor of Sir Ridley Scott's 79th birthday, 20th Century Fox has released a new set photo from Alien: Covenant, which confirms that we will indeed be seeing the enigmatic Space Jockey(s) again...

Legendary director Sir Ridley Scott turned 79 today, and to mark the occasion 20th Century Fox has released a new behind-the-scenes still from his latest installment in the Alien franchise. As you can see, one of the creatures that have come to be known as "Space Jockeys" can be seen in the background.

This race was first introduced in the original Alien in the form of fossilized remains, but we got to learn a little more about them in Scott's divisive prequel, Prometheus. Hopefully Alien: Covenant will go some way towards explaining exactly how these giant beings and the xenomorph are connected.

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Alien: Covenant stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Demien Bichir and Danny McBride, and is set to hit theaters on August 4, 2017.
