I'm looking forward to some dumb, fun, and crazy action with this

I liked the first one but I have a bad feeling about this.

Boyega looks awful so far.

Still haven't seen the first one. Is it worth the look?

@TheLight - I haven't either but I've been told by a lot of people it's actually pretty good.

Big machines fighting big monsters. A straight forward story. Explosions. Loud music. Everything falling apart. If Uprising has all this like its predecessor, then it's gonna be a heck load of fun

I'm hoping that if this does well it might raise interest in making a Robotech movie.

I really enjoyed the first one and will catch this. I wish they would use more practical effects though. They should create human-sized Jaegers models, Kaiju suits and city models for the close-ups. I loved the designs and the effects were pretty good in the first one but CG has no weight and at times it feels way too much like watching a video game cutscene. Real models and sets (of the robots and monsters) mixed with CG works so much better.

Steven S. DeKnight has been very accommodating on Twitter about Pacific Rim: Uprising, answering questions and sharing insights...

Really enjoyed the first film (much better than expected) and looking forward to this.
