Westworld is all about unraveling the mysteries presented to us, and today HBO challenged fans to solve a puzzle that ultimately unlocked a new poster and video for season 2.

Earlier today, HBO and the cast of Westworld provided fans with a series of clues along with the hint to talk to Aeden. It looked like this (below), with each cast member posting a different clue.

Basically, you had to head over to the Discover Westworld website and type to Aeden, the AI, “control takes chaos. At which point Aiden would provide the next hint: “...to become strong than them.” Simply flipping the phrase to “chaos takes control,” would ultimately unlock the new ominous poster for Westworld season 2.

At first glance it just looks like some impressive foreboding  key art. However, if you look closely where the desert meets the mountains, you’ll see a code hidden within. It reads: “687474703A2F2F6269742E6 C792F3246447A696567.”

It didn’t take long for fans to discover that the code leads to a new page of the website - DiscoverWestworld.com/FindTheDoor. The video teaser seems to be voiced by a young Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) presumably telling the hosts their new game: to find the door. And, of course, there’s a bunch of shots of doors opening.

If you recall, showrunners Jonah Nolan and Lisa Joy recently revealed that each individual season of Westworld has an internal title. The first season was called “The Maze,” while the second is called “The Door.” This could be interpreted a number of ways, of course, but with the hosts now in control they are free to explore. And who knows what doors they may open.

The mystery really begins when Westworld season 2 returns to HBO on April 22, 2018.

Need to rewatch season 1, or a recap of it. My memory's awful - feel like I barely remember any of it even though I loved it.

Loved the first season...can't wait to see what kind of shit happens in season 2. Didnt see most of the twists coming in season 1 so i hope that stays true this season.

@MotherGooseUPus - I loved how intellectual and smart season 1 was, some great twists. One of my favorite moments was when Ford explains the hidden message of the brain in the painting.

Really glad they decided to wait an extended period of time instead of rushing out season 2 to try and capitalize on season 1's success.

This might be my most anticipated upcoming cable show.

If you haven't seen it yet, it's a slow burn, but 100% worth watching. Amazing work by HBO, the Nolans and all involved.

@L0RDbuckethead - I believe they chose to wait this long because they saw what happened with True Detective (a show I've never watched). Or at least, they took note of what happened in addition to making sure they had a great season planned. I remember reading about the comparisons back in the day.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Very true, I remember the comparisons being made at the time of their releases.

Although I enjoyed True Detective season 2, it was nowhere near what season 1 was.
