Okay three weeks I can take. And I guess it makes sense, one week opening before James Bond probably meant losing a bunch of visitors to that, whereas I can see Dune take on take on those other three

Dune must make as much money as possible. Finish the book, and start a bunch of shows, there is more to the Dune universe than any GOT or LOTR lore, fight me lol

I suspect those three won't have the same release date in my country, but out of those I might actually watch Dune last.

I still hope this is a semi-accurate version of Dune, but at the same time, I'm almost totally positive this will be a total flop.

Still looking forward to this. I enjoyed Lynch's OTT version (but it was always going to fail truncated into one film). Different sensibilities govern this - the director went for a 2-part structure. And held out to keep it as two films. Sadly, if the first half bombs we're unlikely to see the second.

Also, as I understand it, all deals arranged were limited to the first film. The second film will be treated as a new production and new deals will need to be struck before it goes ahead. Maybe that's been changed? I can see that being a big problem.

That crowded theater release schedule is about to get real and suck for a lot of these films' bottom lines. Sadly, Dune will probably be a casualty of it.

Denis Villeneuve doesn't miss..

behind ZSJL and Black Widow, I can imagine this will be a close 3rd for most pirated film of 2021... till Matrix 4 drop.

I just hope it gets the numbers they need for Part 2.
