Excited for a first look at Stellan Skarsgard as the Baron

@tmp3

Prolly won’t see him until the first trailer. Vanity Fair got a look at him though - said he looks pretty unsettling.

@regularmovieguy - Yeah, full body prosthetics. Great actor. Crushed it in Chernobyl.

I've never read the books, but I'm pretty excited for this, mainly for the cast and Villeneuve. I did start researching the rest of the books and if they decide to do sequels it's going to get weird fast.

@BlackBeltJones - this is my most anticipated film this year.

I’m somewhat bias and really hoping for the movie to exceed expectations, that said I can’t get over those gloves! Lmao, with the extra knuckles covering his wrist. The armor I saw Josh Brolin in and a a few others didn’t look stellar. But here’s hoping with some post production it can get that little bit of pixie dust it needs to really take off

@MuadDib - Had the same thought about the gloves lol

@MuadDib - It's Denis Villeneuve... not sure why you're worried about this not exceeding expectations, the dude's got a perfect track record so far

Gotta say, these costume designs are quite underwhelming so far.

I've read the book almost a decade ago coming out feeling "meh" about it. I'm definitely gonna go back and re-read.

@Vanillain - It's definitely overwritten and full of new age, pseudo-psychological fluff, but there are some truly awesome images in there, and the overall story is cool. Honestly, if you see the Lynch movie, you've more than got the idea.

Cool pic of that character's profile.

I'm not crazy about the simplicity of the design; maybe I was spoiled by the crazy Baroque look of Lynch's adaptation, but I've always seen the world of Dune as quasi-medieval, not clean and ultra-modern. We'll see, maybe I'll be surprised in action!
